Entertainment Graphics Organization 2001 (EGO 2001) is an entertainment industry event that will discuss the future of digital animation and filmmaking. EGO 2001 will present speakers from around the globe talking about the hot topics and technologies in the industry. Last year's event featured Scott Ross, the executive producer of TITANIC. EGO is organized by Pentamedia Graphics, one of the world's largest multimedia companies.

The third annual Cartoon Movie is the European market for animation feature film. The market gives European production firms the chance to meet and exchange ideas, even create co-production partnerships. Increasing the attending number of feature film distributors, as well as international reach for European animated feature film is a high priority for the third edition of Cartoon Movie. This annual event is organized by AEFA Cartoon, the European Association for Animated Films. Since the first edition in 1999, which was attended by more than 250 professionals, ten new projects have been put into production.

Planet Comicon, a four-year-old comic/sci-fi convention, is one of the fastest growing in the country. This year's event features THE HULK's Lou Ferrigno and BATMAN's Julie Newmar.

FanimeCon 2001 is an anime convention run by fans for fans. The event will feature concerts, video screening rooms, an art show, gaming booths and artists booths. Guests will include Greg Weisman, creator of Disney's GARGOYLES; Adam Warren, U.S. manga artist for DIRTY PAIR and GEN 13; Doug Smith, U.S. voice actor of GOLDEN BOY's Kintaro Oe; Jonathan Klein, vice-president of New Generation Pictures; Taliesin Jaffe, dub director and voice actor for Pioneer; Stan Sakai, author of USAGI YOJIMBO and SPACE USAGI; Hiroyuki Yamaga, director and producer for Gainax; and Mari Iijima, singer, songwriter and Japanese voice actress of MACROSS' Lynn Minmay.

I-CON is a science-fiction, fantasy and comics show. The anime program will feature dubbing workshops, guest speakers and panel discussions. This event is a student run festival and one of the largest in the northeast United States.

Frames 2001 is the first global convention on the business of entertainment in India. The two-day event will bring together artists and producers from around the world. The convention will feature discussions, meetings, seminars, interactive workshops, screenings and previews. Last year's festival featured an in depth study entitled, "Indian Entertainment: Strategy and Vision."

MIP TV is the world's premier international television program market. The six-day TV industry trade show and conference program will focus on the international television industry. The event gives buyers, sellers and programmers a chance to meet and make deals. The conference includes a vast array of panels and round-table discussions with some of the world's top professionals. Each year the event attracts over 10,000 professionals from around the world.

Fantasm 2001 is a leading multimedia science-fiction, fantasy, horror, art, film and gaming convention. Foundation Imaging's computer animation wizard, Mojo, will be on hand to discuss his work on the TV series BABYLON 5, STAR TREK: VOYAGER and STARSHIP TROOPERS. Visitors can bring their demo tapes and questions on how to break into the computer animation business.

The Los Angeles Museum of Television and Radio presents a 90-minute film on Nick Park, the creator of the popular stop-motion animation characters Wallace and Gromit. The film will feature sequences from CREATURE COMFORT, and all three of the Wallace & Gromit shorts. A GRAND DAY OUT has Wallace and Gromit traveling to the moon in search of cheese. THE WRONG TROUSERS chronicles the mishaps that ensue when Wallace takes in a shifty penguin as a lodger. A CLOSE SHAVE uncovers how Wallace and Gromit unravel a countrywide sheep-rustling ring. The films will screen April 19 - May 20, 2001 at 1:00 pm, with a suggested donation of $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors and $3 for children ages 13 and under.

Sakura Con 2001 is a Japanese anime and manga convention. Voice-over actress Lia Sargent will be the guest of honor. Lia has provided voices for shows such as TRIGUN, COWBOY BEBOP, EL-HAZARD and many others. The event will feature discussion panels with voice actor/industry guests, an art show, a Japanese cultural discussion, demonstration panels, video gaming and a dance.
