CARTOON, European Animation Film Association has chosen EXPOTOONS, the most representative international animation festival in Latin America, as a strategic partner in that region to organize CARTOON CONNECTION, the first meeting between European and Latin American animation professionals. The most representative animation event in Latin America. It hosts selected films, conferencists, trainers, production and distribution companies, buyers and more! This year more than ever it's becoming a bridge to Europe and Asia. And since 2008 it is allied with Annecy Animation Festival. Córdoba International Animation Festival - ANIMA, is both an academic and cultural event, devoted specifically to animation in its artistic and technological dimensions. ANIMA merges the energy, enthusiasm and joy of an Animation Festival with the scientific aspects of a Conference. Held every odd year since 2001, ANIMA is the main animation event in Argentina and a very influential player in its field in Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

ANIMA is no ordinary event. Its main objective is to gather creative individuals devoted to the art and craft of animation into a meeting point where all discussion and exchange can be directed into the scope of animation, in its many dimensions of analysis: as artistic expression, as cultural industry, as educational resource, as corpus for research, etc… Or just as fun!

The Festival is open to animation films of every genre, topic, format and screening media (film, video, television, Internet). Special interest is granted to those works where the filmmaker’s expressive intention stands out from marketing requirements; and also to school productions. Participation is open for artists all over the world, with special interest in those from Latin America. There is no limit in the number of works an author can send, but a separate Entry Form must be completed for each work, and shipping instructions must be respected.

There is no entry fee.

The Australian Effects and Animation Festival Melbourne 2003, will be held on May 12-13 at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. Leading visual effects specialists from Weta Digital, ILM and The Moving Picture Company will share their secrets behind film and TV

The Digital Media Festival delivers an exhibition with the latest cutting edge tools for Animation, Visual Effect, HD/Digital Video production/Post production and Digital Imaging. Leading digital media technology tools from Apple, Sony, Panasonic, Adobe, Avid, Discreet and Canopus (just to name a few) will be exhibited with industry expert specialists on hand to inform and educate the industry.

Platinum Partner Apple will host the Apple Training Theatre with workshops on Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Shake and Motion. The Digital Media Partner Theatre will host a stream of free information sessions from the industry leading product vendors at the show.
