The Wanadoo Talent Show highlights the producers and scriptwriters from audiovisual television and Internet programs. Held in conjunction with MIPCOM, the event is presented by Wanadoo, the leading Internet provider in France. All projects will be reviewed by a committee of audiovisual and multimedia professionals, who will select six candidates to participate in the special "talent show" during the beginning of MIPCOM. The winner will receive 50,000FF (US$ 6,993.17) and the second place winner 20,000FF ($2,797.27).

MIPCOM: International Film and Programme Market for TV, Video, Cable and Satellite is one of the world's largest and most prestigious television markets. MIPCOM gives companies from around the world an opportunity to complete program sales, deals, new contacts and joint ventures. From September 30 - October 1, MIPCOM Junior will focus on the growing world of children's programming. Starting October 2, MIPCOM brings together over 10,000 producers, distributors, broadcasters, Webcasters, worldwide cable and satellite operators, buyers, co-producers and investors. The Silicon Pulp Animation Gallery will present Atomic Sushi, a major exhibition of artworks from Japanese animated films and TV series. The exhibition will include pre-production illustrations, storyboards, original hand-painted cels and backgrounds. A comprehensive catalogue covering the history, themes and artists will also be published to coincide with the exhibition. Also, the Dendy Cinemas are holding a "Japanime Festival" from Wednesday, September 6 - Sunday, September 10 as part of the Sydney Olympic Arts Festival. Silicon Pulp will exhibit original artworks from a selection of the films screened at the festival.

The Bradford Animation Festival (BAF!) is a project of the National Museum of
Photography, Film and Television in England. BAF! is looking specifically for new
animation from all over the world in its eight competitive categories. All submitted
films will be considered for screening and for the eight Festival Awards. The
categories are: Non-Professional under 16; Experimental; Promotional/Commercial;
Non-Professional Adult; Professional; Digital; Films for Children; and TV Series for
Children (one episode from the series).

A competition for Business, Television, Documentary, Industrial and Informational
productions. Entry fee: $125-150.

The Nashville Independent Film Festival (NIFF) will showcase the best in independent film and video featuring premiere screenings of award winning works, seminars, panel discussions and guest appearances by nationally recognized film/video makers. The festival is one of the few Academy Award qualifying festivals for animation. Adding to the Feature, Animation, Documentary, Short Film and Young Filmmaker categories, the festival has opened up some new categories this year: Television Pilot/Episodic Television, and Family and Children Films. Entry fees range from $10 to $50.

WAC will showcase more than 800 films, including the best in both classic and contemporary animation. As the main attraction, WAC will present awards to the best new animated works from around the world. The World Animation Celebration will present a trade show, an international business conference, world and American film premieres, seminars, symposiums, tributes, salutes to new European animation, special programs on new computer animation and a survey of the world's best animated commercials. Cash prizes, awards and commissions will be presented to winners in categories that include feature and short films, television series, television specials, commercials, public service announcements, educational films, experimental animation, computer animation, and animation intended for children.

The World Education Market will be a first-of-its kind annual event for all key players in education to meet on a world stage, buy and sell products, systems and know-how, share ideas and create dynamic business partnerships and joint ventures. Key decision-makers in colleges, universities, school systems, governments and international agencies, as well as publishers, multimedia developers, and the telecommunications and television industries will all be present.

This Festival has six categories: features, shorts, TV fiction, cartoons, shorts and documentaries. One panel of judges will be composed of show business and communications professionals and the other by Internet users. The winning works will be presented on the Website for the rest of the year; the works that are not selected for the festival will be presented on-line for a limited period of time immediately after the event.
