The 17th EuropaCinema & TV Film Festival highlights European film and television projects. The festival has a European animation shorts category. All films must be 15 minutes or less.

Organized by the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts
and Sciences, the International Emmy Awards acknowledge the special skills of the
men and women who create and produce television programs outside of the United
States. Awards are presented in seven categories of programming: Drama,
Documentary, Arts Documentary, Performing Arts, Popular Arts, Children and Young
People, and News Coverage.

In support of her new book MY LIFE AS A 10-YEAR-OLD BOY, Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson, will be making book signing appearances at various book stores around the Southern California area. On Monday, November 20, she will be at the Border's at 9301 Tampa Ave., Northridge at 7 pm. On Tuesday, November 21, she will be a Book Soup at 8818 Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood at 7:30 pm. On Friday, November 24, she will be at the South Coast Plaza Border's in Costa Mesa at 2 pm. And on Wednesday, November 29, she will be at the Border's at 14651 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks at 7:30 pm.

Categories for this competition are: Editorial, Books, Advertising; Posters; Graphics; Illustrated Maps and Charts; Computer Media, Unpublished Illustrations; Television & Film; and Student Illustrators. Entry fee: $25-75.

The 4th Annual Collectibles Business and Gift Executive Conference is a place for executives in the gifts and collectibles market to learn about the newest trends in the industry. The event will feature industry speakers and sales strategy workshops.

MIFED, the Cinema and Television International Multimedia Market, is a leading market for independent audiovisual productions. MIFED 2000 will focus on new marketing strategies to develop alliances and co-productions.

An evening of rare English-dubbed Japanese animated TV series of the 1960s that DIDN'T make it to America! Osamu Tezuka's BIG X, Toei's KEN THE WOLF BOY and Tatsunoko's SPACE ACE (aka RING-O) will be screened. Jerry Beck, Fred Patten and Fred Ladd (producer of the English language SPACE ACE) will introduce the screening. The event takes place at 7:30 pm. Admission for ASIFA members is US$2, non-members $5 and seating is limited.

The LIMA Executive Conference is designed to bring together upper management professionals to discuss new trends and the future of the licensing industry. This year's keynote speaker will be the commissioner of the trademarks and patents office, Paul Begala. Leading licensors, licensees and retailers will run panels featuring topics such as the development of a property/brand through concept, artwork, product development, marketing and distribution and the changing roles of the three-way partnerships.

The Wanadoo Talent Show highlights the producers and scriptwriters from audiovisual television and Internet programs. Held in conjunction with MIPCOM, the event is presented by Wanadoo, the leading Internet provider in France. All projects will be reviewed by a committee of audiovisual and multimedia professionals, who will select six candidates to participate in the special "talent show" during the beginning of MIPCOM. The winner will receive 50,000FF (US$ 6,993.17) and the second place winner 20,000FF ($2,797.27).
