24: Redemption Photography Exhibit Moves to Paley Center in New York

Posted In | Event Category: Other, Special Effects, Television, Visual Effects | Event Type: Exhibits
Starts: Feb 06, 2009 - Ends: Mar 31, 2009
Submission Deadline: Feb 06, 2009
Location: New York, New York, USA
On the heels of a run at The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, the "24: REDEMPTION -- Captured in Africa" exhibit is traveling to the Paley Center in New York for a two-month stay. The exhibit is composed of a stunning collection of photographs shot by five members of the Emmy Award-winning FOX drama's creative team during the filming of 24: REDEMPTION last year. Visitors to the exhibit will be treated to a rare inside look at the making of the show, candid moments between cast and crew including Emmy Award-winner Kiefer Sutherland, dramatic stills from the spectacular action sequences and vivid captures of the scenic South African locations. The Paley Center for Media in New York will host the one-of-a-kind photo exhibit of fine art museum-quality archival prints from Feb. 6 through March 31, 2009. Curated by ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY deputy photo director Michael Kochman and custom printed at the L.A.-based DigitalFusion's fine art printing facility, the exhibit features works by executive producer/director Jon Cassar, director of photography Rodney Charters, producer Michael Klick, unit photographer Kelsey McNeal and star/exec producer Kiefer Sutherland. "I was so impressed with the quality of the photography, and it was exciting to see a production photographed from five different perspectives," said Kochman. "Each photographer captured something very special and poetic -- sometimes intimate, sometimes epic, sometimes documentary-like and raw. It all adds up to a fascinating photographic experience." "Shooting 24: REDEMPTION in South Africa was the highlight of my six years on the show," said 24 executive producer and Emmy Award-winning director Jon Cassar. "It was nothing short of exhilarating. Africa also became a wonderful canvas for the still photography enthusiasts among our crew. Every day put us in places and situations that were new and exciting to us, and our cameras clicked constantly. This exhibit chronicles the seven weeks that were spent in Cape Town and the surrounding regions from moments captured during a hectic shooting schedule to the faces and places that represent not only the making of 24 but the Africa of today." Beginning Feb. 6, Sprint users can download select shots from the exhibit to web-enabled Sprint phones. The photos will be available on Sprint's 24 mobile website at no additional charge to Sprint data subscribers. Standard data rates may apply. To access the photos, Sprint customers should open the Web on their phone and type http://gospv.com/24pics in the address bar. As a sponsor of 24, Sprint provides a range of exclusive 24-related content for its customers. For more information, customers can visit www.sprint.com/24. "24: REDEMPTION -- Captured in Africa" opens to the general public Friday, Feb. 6 and runs through March 31, 2009, and is included in the general admission to the Paley Center. The Paley Center for Media, located at 25 W 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019, is open 12-6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, and Thursdays from 12-8 p.m. 24: REDEMPTION aired Sunday, Nov. 23 on FOX, and is currently available on DVD. The special edition includes an exclusive director's cut featuring over ten minutes of never-before-seen footage not shown on TV, as well as additional bonus features including commentary and a behind-the-scenes on-location documentary. 24, currently in its seventh season, airs Mondays (9-10 p.m. ET/PT) on FOX, and episodes are available at fox.com and hulu.com.
