Stop Motion is animaton that uses, puppets, claymation, moving lego men etc . Movies like "A Nightmare Before Christmas", "James and the Giant Peach", and shows like "Wallace and Grommit", "Gumby", and "Thunderbirds" all use stop-motion animation.



Learn how to create your own stop-motion animation shorts in this 10 day program. Students will work together on a project that will end with a completed film.



Students completing this workshop will have a demo reel of the finished product, invaluable in applying to arts and animation programs.

Frames Per Second second annual online charity auction will benefit Canadian Cancer Society: 100% of profits from an eBay auction will be donated to fight cancer. The charity auction cause is selected by the readers of fps earlier in the year. Anyone with Internet access will be able to bid on animation-related items put on eBay by fps. These items include books, CD soundtracks, animation software, posters, pins and DVDs. Some of the highlights for auction this year include: * Gorillaz action figures donated by Kid Robot * Tim Burton's Corpse Bride movie posters, including marquee posters signed by animation co-director Mike Johnson, donated by Warner Bros. * Tim Burton's Corpse Bride: An Invitation to the Wedding with bookplate signed by Mike Johnson, donated by Newmarket Press * large selection of anime DVDs So break out your holiday lists, or your own personal animation wish list and donate to a worthy charity at the same time! The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will present "Next TV: Managing Your Future in the Changing Landscape of Television," a day-long forum with the media professionals who will share how to stay ahead of the curve in a dynamic environment of social, economic and technological change.
