A fun, exciting workshop that gets animators on their feet
to learn how characters express with the body

In the art of Animation, movement and characterization are obviously key points of interest to artists. Careful analysis of the body and its possibilities in natural and stylized movement is invaluable. Character Movement for Animation offers animators a greater understanding of the potential of a character’s physical expression, and of how characters visually express personality, thought, and emotion with the body.

In these workshops, some concepts are introduced through lecture and demonstration. There is no substitute, though, for hands-on experience, so animators participate in exercises and improvisations to achieve a better understanding. Printed materials accompany each workshop for later reference.

Workshop topics range from the basic nature of stylized movement to taking full advantage of 3D animation.

Each Sunday, participants will have 4 hours of class, with a short break in the middle of the day. The workshop is offered for students age 17 to adult (younger students by special permission only). Regular tuition is $135.00. Discounts of up to $25.00 off are available for participants who register by February 10th.

The Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival (Citrus Cel) is a non profit organization that celebrates animation as a cultural and commercial medium with three days of screenings, parties and panels in Jacksonville, Florida.
