Se-Ma-For Film Festival is organized by Se-ma-for Film Foundation operating by two-time Academy Award winning film studio. It is the only in Europe and Asia festival dedicated to puppet animation and stop motion. This year's edition will be held under the banner of animation from Eastern and Central Europe.

The festival not only gives you the opportunity to see the latest, exceptional works of animation artists from Poland and all over the world, but also the greatest classics.

It is also an opportunity to discover the beauty of the art of stop motion and participate in discussions with artists, producers, distributors, as well as representatives of international film schools and festivals.

Lodz city spirit and film tradition provides a unique atmosphere. We want the festival to be an international meeting platform for all speaking the universal language of animation.



This year's festival will include, among other things:

• International Stop Motion Animation Competition and Polish Animation Competition.

• "Animation in the neighborhood" - a project involving several countries of Eastern and Central Europe - the presentation of the most important works of the last five years.

• "Fathers of our animation" - a scientific conference, which will be attended by historians from Russia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Slovak, Polish, Estonian and Hungarian. It will be a series of lectures illustrated with unique films from the major European archives.

• Special screenings organized on the occasion of 65th Se-ma-for anniversary; "Mornings for children" and special educational shows for high schools.

• Panels for producers, distributors, as well as promoters of the animation. Workshops and conferences with outstanding artists from Iran, Russia, USA, Romania, Belarus and Lithuania.

• Festival zone located in culture, art and creative business center - OFF Piotrkowska and related events; concerts and exhibitions, as well as a visit to the newly opened Se-ma-for Museum of Animation.

From October 10th to 13th Se-Ma-For Film Foundation will organize 3rd edition of Se-Ma-For Film Festival (held in Lodz, Poland) – the first stop-motion animation festival in Europe and Asia. 

You are kindly invited to submit your films – every stop-motion film produced after January 1st 2010, which running time is not longer than 35 minutes can be entered.

  

Submission deadline is August 3rd 2012.

3DStudio.nl is presenting the international modo gathering event: MOGA on October 26. MOGA is for people working in the Media & Entertainment industry, specialized in visualization and animation. The aim of MOGA is to bring modo specialists, users and other people who are interested together in an informal setting. MOGA is all about sharing knowledge. The Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival (Citrus Cel) is a non profit organization that celebrates animation as a cultural and commercial medium with three days of screenings, parties and panels in Jacksonville, Florida. Citrus Cel will act as a hub for students and professionals from the fields of animation, design, illustration, and film, as well as add to the growing cultural landscape of festivals and events in northeast Florida.

Send us your short features, animations, trash movies, documentaries, music videos, etc. We bring everything on screen that is freaky, crafty, slick, hard-boiled, and witty! Anything is allowed - as long as it's short and cheap!

 

As a short film festival for low & no budget productions, ClipAward explicitly addresses independent filmmakers who make films without big money. Therefore, your submissions may not be produced within the scope of media studies and exceed 500€ per minute. The maximum length is 15 minutes. The shorts have to be subtitled in German or English.

 

The festival takes place from April 26th-28th, 2013 in the Mannheim Palace, Germany.

Kinematifest is Webster University’s International Animation and Interactive Media festival. Our mission is to showcase student work and foster a worldwide interest in animation and interactive media. Munky is delighted to host a workshop evening with legendary SideFX guru Jeff Wagner discussing Ocean FX And FLIP Fluids in the latest release, Houdini12.5

Houdini 12.5 has new whitewater and spray solvers along with new tools to help set up fluid simulations for anything from water to lava. There is also the new OceanFX tools for simulating large ocean water from calm to stormy. The Ocean FX Wave Tank tool lets you simulate a FLIP fluid simulation driven by an animated ocean surface.

This class will cover generating ocean water, fast moving water, fluid tanks and the new Ocean FX tools for those users who are either familiar with Houdini’s interface or experienced Maya Artists. You are welcome to bring laptops and play along but not essential!

Doors open at 6:30pm for registration. Jeff will start the talk at 7pm sharp and talk for approximately 2 hours after which there will be some refreshments and a chance for a chat.
