The 9th edition of International Short Film Festival "Leuven Kort" is a celebration of short cinema. The festival holds an international competition for live-action short films and a non-competitive program for digifilm and music videos. Anima 2004 organizers have created a new competition category for Internet films, called WebAnima 2004. The competition is open to all, amateurs and professionals alike. It is intended for any animated work, using any animation technique (e.g. Flash) but excluding live-action, and made specifically for screening on the Internet. Each entrant may submit a maximum of three works. Entries must not exceed 2 MB. From the 15 finalists, the same jury will chose a Grand Prix winner, sponsored by SPIROU.COM (les Editions Dupuis S.A.). The winner will receive 2,500 Euros, in the form of one or several commissioned work(s) to be featured on the SPIROU.COM Website. The 10th edition of Flanders' major International Short Film Festival "Leuven Kort" will present an international competition for live-action short films and a non-competitive program for digifilm and music videos. Two prizes will be awarded in the live-action competition: the "Prize of the Audience" with the purchase of the film by national broadcast company) and the "Prize of the Jury" including $2,500 euro. Participating films must be completed after September 1, 2003. The event accepts the following screening formats: 35 mm, 16 mm, Beta SP and mini-DV/mini-DVCAM. On Nov. 17-18, 2006, the animation film festival "City in Motion" of Hasselt Belgium will celebrate its first edition. "City in Motion" unpacks with a variation of creative, amateur productions to professional screenings of internationally upcoming animation filmmakers. The festival offers chances to young animation filmmakers and focuses both on the films and on the makers of the animation film. The "City in Motion" animation film festival will launch a fresh and open concept in association with Kunstencentrum BELGIE and would like to give a positive boost to animation film in general. The mainly intention is about giving everyone a honest chance to show their own made animation for a general public on large screen, without complicated procedures for the participants. It's about an open interaction between the maker and the public to put them all in the spotlight. To stimulate all kind of animation filmmakers there will be no selections.
