MITV - International TV Market is the first independent international market for TV productions in Latin America. The event is a place where people who produce, distribute or exhibit series, documentaries, animations or motion pictures can connect. The event comprises two days of meetings where TV stations, cable channels, independent producers, distributors, government and international guests will be able to meet and exchange ideas, watch finished programs and ongoing projects, and discuss the issues that are moving local and global markets.

Production companies with completed or in-progress projects can present them at MITV Screenings, a special show for buyers, and producers. Producers, distributors and broadcasters can attend pitching sessions of an unusual kind, with the participation of producers who do not normally have access to top-tier international markets. The well-known and popular Brazil Programming & Production Forum, to be held this year in parallel with MITV. Attendees will have access to first-class presentations and debates in the company of highly qualified professionals from Brazil, the U.S., Canada, France, Sweden, Spain, Portugal and elsewhere. This one-day intensive workshop, presented by the Toronto Animated Image Society, is designed as a broad introduction for those interested in starting their own business and/or selling your skills as a freelancer. It will explain how to deal with GST, PST, legal registration, licensing, zoning and bylaws. Emphasis will be placed on saving money on taxes, getting organized, tapping into various consultants and government help centers. This workshop is especially useful for anyone interested in setting up their own film production company or planning a film shoot. Speaker Christine Whitlock is a writer/producer/director who has also been teaching business courses since 1981. She has two businesses that do consulting, write scripts, publish books and create events. She belongs to the Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville Chambers of Commerce. The price of the workshop is $25 for TAIS members and $35 for the public. The event will begin at 11:00 am and go until 5:00 pm with a one-hour lunch break. SAFO 03 will present the 2nd Teacher's Symposium. Animation teachers from around the world will attend the day-long conference to discuss the current state of animation education, discuss new methodologies, industry pressures and how to work together to solve various pedagogical problems facing educators in this heavily competitive digital era. Starting at 9:00 am, internationally recognized animator, historian and teacher, John Canemaker will speak about the need for teachers to reiterate the continuing importance of communication, storytelling, animation history, drawing and soul, in this age of high technology. Beginning at 10:00 am, a panel entitled
