This program will discuss what it means to be a politically active artist in the new millennium. Topics of discussion will be: Has political art changed since Sept. 11 and who are the current activist artists? This informal panel discussion at the Armory Center for the Arts on will begin at 8:00 pm. Addressing these and other questions will be some of the most knowledgeable and controversial activist artists and curators: Kim Abeles, internationally recognized Los Angeles artist involved with social and political issues and Professor of Sculpture, Cal State Northridge; THINK AGAIN Agit art group, including David Attyah and S.A. Bachman; and Carol Wells, founding director, Center for the Study of Political Graphics. The panel will be moderated by Jay Belloli, the Armory's director of gallery programs. The panelists will show slides of their work or work by other activist artists, followed by a general discussion. The program will take place at the Armory Center for the Arts, 145 N.
