Vancouver International Digital Festival (June 25-June 26 2004)is for the creators and producers of digital content. Giggleshorts is the largest comedy short film festival in the world. Darryl's Hard Liquor and Porn Film Festival is an annual comedy short film festival. The festival is dedicated to all that is sleazy, sexy, dirty and wrong ... but fun. The Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema (WFAC) is an annual film festival founded to promote appreciation for animation as a viable medium for sophisticated, cinematic storytelling, and to review, celebrate and enjoy animated feature films as works of art.

The primary category for the Festival is the full-length animated feature film.

SUBMISSIONS: There is no entrance fee. Acceptable exhibition formats include 35mm and digital theatre; hi-def or other high-quality video may also be accepted provided the complete unavailability in theatrical formats.

Concept's annual science fiction and fantasy charity auction features donations from science fiction artists, animators and authors and media. Guest auctioneer Paul Bennett always guarantees a great time even if you just want to watch the show! Some donors this year include Atomic Cartoons, Jim Henson Company, Warner Bros. Television Animation, MGM, science fiction and fantasy artists Donato Giancola, David Cherry, Todd Lockwood, animator Stephan Martiniere and gaming and comic artist Ken Meyer, Jr., and comic artist Barry Windsoer-Smith. Proceeds help to pay for the annual not-for-profit convention and are shared equally with Summit School, which serves primary and secondary school children with developmental delays in the greater Montreal area.

The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF 05) is North America's oldest and largest animation festival. The festival is broken up into four umbrella categories. The first is for animated feature films. The New Media Competition covers Animation Short Made for the Internet, Internet series, interactive animation and "Machinima," films made with videogame software. Commissioned Films Competition covers educational, scientific or industrial film, advertising film, station-program identification, music video, television special, television pilot, television series for adults and television series for children. Independent Short Films Competition covers narrative short film under 35 minutes, non-narrative short film under 35 minutes, first film and films made for children. Founded in 1976, and held biennially ever since, the OIAF attracts international animators, producers, broadcasters, and enthusiasts to Ottawa to view films entered in and out of competition, and attend special screenings and workshops that ponder the current state and future of animation. The Hard Liquor and Porn Film Festival is an annual showcase for funny and creative short films about sex. The Festival began in 2000 as a party in the humble bachelor apartment of filmmaker Darryl Gold and continues to grow every year. Stop-motion icon Ray Harryhausen will appear in Montreal for the inaugural fps Animation Innovators lecture. Fans will first be treated to a screening of Jason and the Argonauts, and then hear Mr. Harryhausen speak about his impressive career. Excerpts from his early work will also be screened. Held in conjunction with the Fantasia Film Festival, North America's largest cult film festival, Mr. Harryhausen will also be receiving the first Fantasia lifetime achievement award.
