The Interactive TV & Online Learning Conference gives the education field and technology sector an opportunity to share ideas and new developments in the world of interactive learning. ISEA2000, 10th International Symposium on Electronic Art, is organized by ART3000 in collaboration with ISEA, The Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts. The symposium is an annual event that finds a new home each year. ISEA2000 is an international event targeted at the artistic community involved with new media. With "Revelation" as its theme, ISEA2000 will focus on new means of representation and will explore the effects of the technological revolution on art and society -- digital images, virtual realities, multimedia, interactive installations, networks, etc. The event will have an international symposium composed of papers and panel sessions, poster sessions, workshops and institutional presentations and a program of exhibitions, concerts, performances, an electronic theater and "street scenes" (outdoor activities). Supporting the event is the Ministry of Culture and Communication (DDAT, DAP, DAI, CNC, DMDTS), in partnership with the Forum des Images, CICV Pierre Schaeffer, Canadian Cultural Center, ACROE and the General Quebec Delegation.

The Bangkok Entertainment Show is a chance for the ever-growing Thai entertainment industry to showcase their work. The event is a chance for professionals from around the world to meet filmmakers and producers from Thailand. The show will hold seminars, exhibits, student art contests and screenings.

The Second Annual International Festival of Time-Based Media is being presented by the University of Southern California School of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the Santa Monica Museum of Art. The festival will take place on both the USC Campus, Los Angeles and at the SMMoA, Santa Monica. Art In Motion is organized around a central theme, and the only criteria for submission is that works be "time-based." This year's theme is "The Vanishing Author?" an exploration of the changing view of whom is "The Author" of modern artwork. Entries may address the festival theme directly or indirectly. If, for example, you are an "Author," or your work is made collaboratively, employs sampling and appropriation and/or is available for others to sample, then it is addressing the theme. A jury will view all selected works and award, among others the US$1000 Intelefilm Award for Creative Excellence. The Art in Motion II jurors are Tom Leeser, Visual Effects Supervisor/Art Director at Rhythm & Hues; Janice Tanaka, a video collage artist; and T. Kim Trang, an internationally-acclaimed video artist and independent curator of digital media.

I.D. Magazine is recognizing outstanding interactive work for the year 2000. Eligible for the awards are CD-Roms, Websites, games, kiosk interfaces, promotional demos and unpublished prototypes. A panel of judges will choose gold, silver and bronze prizewinners. All winners will be featured in the June issue of I.D. MAGAZINE. Last entries will be accepted no later than January 15, 2001 and any entry postmarked after January 8 must include an additional US$25 late fee.
