It addresses the needs of professionals using 3D technology in a wide variety of contexts, including entertainment, architecture, engineering, science, medicine, and legal affairs. More than 70 intermediate to advanced classes provide training and instruction in 3D tools and techniques used in animation, modeling, rendering, visual effects, industrial visualization, web design, broadcast and film design, and digital video.

First International Symposium on Non-Photorealistic Animation and Rendering (NPAR)

NPAR 2000 is the first international symposium dedicated to non-photorealistic animation and rendering, including cartoon animation systems and techniques. Held in conjunction with the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, SIGGRAPH and Eurographics, the symposium will bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and the industry. It will showcase cutting-edge research in non-photorealistic animation and rendering systems and techniques, and present examples of their application in original computer-animated films.

Mediawave - International Visual Arts Festival

This festival will present films that are ousted from traditional distribution venues and can rarely be seen in movie theaters or on TV, including animation films based on techniques expanding the limits of animation. The program includes East-West meetings; photographic and fine art exhibitions; contemporary, improvised, alternative and folk music concerts; as well as theater, performance and dance works.

Also, for youth age 17 & under, the festival presents The Digital Kids Fest as part of its program. Prizes are being furnished by Adobe, Deep Paint and MGI Software. Zoomgo Film Fest 2000

First annual Zoomgo Film Fest 2000 is celebrating creativity, talent and achievement through the use of streaming media and the Internet. The festival will showcase works from around the world ranging from animations to shorts. There will be 100 films/animations selected and posted on the festival site where a panel of professionals from the Independent Film/Animation Industry will judge the top 10 voted films. There will be three overall cash awards: 1st place - US$5,000, 2nd place - $1,000 and 3rd place - $500. Voting will start on June 1, 2000 at zoomgo.com.

41st Annual Clio Awards

Anima Mundi Web

Anima Mundi Web is Brazil's international animation Web competition. The event is open to all countries and work must be in Flash and gif formats. The festival will pre-select 20 animations and an international jury will vote for the winners. The international jury will consist of the people that have registered on the Anima Mundi Festival Web site.
