Summer 2007 AAA Screenplay Contest

AAA Screenplay Contest gives away over $8,000 in cash and access to more than 350 companies, plus two TV prizes (one for sitcoms, the other for one-hour dramatic) this year, and four CS Genre Fellowships have been created to find promising writers and offer them the guidance of a CREATIVE SCREENWRITING mentor to help them take their work to the next level. These special fellowships will be awarded in the Drama, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Thriller/Horror and Comedy genres.

Entry fee is $40 for features, $30 for teleplays. Quarterfinalists will be notified and posted on the website by Sept. 15. Semifinalists will be notified and posted on the website by Oct. 1. Finalists will be announced by Oct. 15, and the winner will be chosen no later than Nov. 1.

The Accolade is a nontraditional, virtual venue with seasonal deadlines that allows timely online publicity and distribution opportunities for moviemakers, television producers and videographers. It is a top tier, international awards competition in its fifth year. The Accolade receives entries from all over the world including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, Spain, Ireland, India, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Hong Kong, etc. Subtitled, foreign-language films are welcome. The awards go to those moviemakers, television producers and videographers who produce fresh, standout entertainment, animation and compelling documentaries.

BlueCat Screenplay Competition offers entrants written feedback on their scripts. All screenplays entered by Dec. 1 will receive feedback by Jan. 1. Gilbert's book, SIMPLIFIED DRAWING FOR PLANNING ANIMATION, has been a leading resource for animators since 1999. Sintay is a senior animator at Digital Domain and a mentor at Animation Mentor. He has worked on the films POCAHONTAS, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, MULAN and TARZAN at Disney, and SPIRIT, SINBAD and SHARK TALE at DreamWorks Animation. Most recently, he worked as a senior animator on OPEN SEASON, SURF'S UP, MONSTER HOUSE, BEOWULF and I AM LEGEND at Sony Pictures Imageworks. Having just finished work on G.I.
