FAME LA and Animation Ink announce the Los Angeles Rock'n Comic-Con 2010 at the Pasadena Convention Center which supports the Arts, in Animation, Music & the Film Industries and their creative talents.

Animation Ink, in cooperation with Vanguard Productions and Desert Wind Comics, announces featured Guest of Honor, legendary Marvel Comics Creator Stan "The Man" Lee. Stan is the creator and/or co-creator of many of the greatest comic book characters ever including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Avengers, X-Men, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, and many more.

Stan will launch our new convention with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, VIP Gold Room Meet and Greet, walk through, autograph signings, photos, and much more are scheduled for a total of eight hours on Friday and Saturday.  Stan Lee, Jim Steranko and moderator J. David Spurlock, Vanguard Press, will host a special guest panel for the 70th Anniversary of Captain America and Marvel Comics.

An ever-growing list of talents from the worlds of animation, film, comics, and music will be in attendence. Such favorites as J. Scott Campbell, Eisner-winning, Emmy-nominated Bill Sienkiewicz, Bernie Wrightson, Dean Yeagle, Jim Smith co-creator of Ren & Stimpy theme song will be performed live.

The world's leading late night talk show host and UFO expert George Noory from Coast to Coast radio,  Rodd Roddenberry and Marc and Elaine Zicree for Sci-Fi panels.  Animation panels, Musicians panel, Voice-Over Artists, Writers, FX and many more.

International television personality Sabrina A. Parisi, best selling author, columnist, fashion model will sign autographs, Meet-and-Greet and photo ops.

Fans can listen to DJ Shy, the first and only female mixer at the No. 1 top 40 radio station in America, 102.7 KIIS-FM. will spin albums, sign autographs, Meet-and-Greet.

The Main Exhibit and Artists Exhibit Hall will be filled with comics, art, books, merchandise, collectibles, artists and celebrities for autograph signings, photo ops, event exclusive Variant Comic Book, etc.

Industry Professionals
will have lectures, panel discussions, demos by Animators, film screenings, portfolio reviews by Disney and others.

Horror Movie Panels, some moderated by Don Glut will include many special guests such as William Stout, "The Alien" Bill Blair, horror band Williow Wisp will make a special appearance and perform. Top Special FX Artists will display their Monsters original FX Props and Reproductions, and Famous Monsters of Filmland will also be exhibitors.

A Special Femme Fatales panel and celeb autograph signings, Cosmic Play Girls in Superheroine costumes and Star Wars re-enactment Saber Guild members will be judges int our Masquerade Costume Contest.

Our Entertainment Pavilion will feature Pirates of the Caribbean Cast Members from the Black Pearl, FX artists and merchandise, swords, amor, costumes, The Hollywood Film & Acting Academy and One-on-One Music Mentoring Sessions with Rock Stars.

Live music all day long from LA local bands in the Plaza Stage Area, while enjoying the Memorial Day BBQ with tri-tip steak and shaved ice.

6th. Animation Short Festival of Montevideo Comics

6th Animation Short Festival

As part of the 6th. annual Convention of Comics, Animation and Games named "Montevideo Comics" Animation Campus is calling for entries to animators from all over the World to submit their works to be screened at the big size screen of Cine Plaza Theater in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay.

This is a unique opportunity to show realizer's work to over 3.000 people, according to last Convention's assistants. During two days people from all over the regios assist to this Convention, the biggest of his kind in this area, merging people highly interested in Animation, Games and Comics Art.

Animation Campus is the main sponsor for this Convention, joining artists from Uruguay, Argentina, Spain, Portugal and United States.

CONDITIONS:

1. The submitions are opened to either individual artists or studios of animation who work in this art, no matter what kind of art or concept they develop. All kind of techinques and stories are welcome.

2. Selected works are going to be screened next May 15th., 2010 during the Convention of "Montevideo Comics" at the Plaza Cinema Theater in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay (big screen).

3. Techinque and stories are free. According to the audience's profile, it is recommended to submit stories related to either the world of Comics, action & adventures or Sci Fi. Non traditional artistic animation and/or hilarious stories are welcome too by this audience.

4. Animation Campus will publish in both its official website (www.animecampus.edu.uy) and the official magazine of the Convention the names and data of the selected animations and their respective authors.

5. Works must be submitted in either digital format (CD -AVI or MOV for PC- or DVD) or VHS plus all data referred to the author to: Animation Campus - Bulevar Artigas 1085, CP 11.200 Montevideo, Uruguay. All costs related to the delivery are under author responsability exclusively.

6. Optionally, author can submit his work electronically using some service of file exchanging of his preference. In this case, please contact us at: talleres@animecampus.edu.uy

7. Submission deadline is: Friday, May 7th. of 2010 at 10 pm.

8. Author authorize Animation Campus to screen this animationv just one time, exclusively during the Convention, in the date and place previously indicated. This material cannot be used for any other purpose that the Festival screening during the convention.

9. Selected animations will be announced by Animation Campus and opportunitely communicated to the authors via email.

10. Animation Campus will not return any material submitted for this festival.

11. The solely submition of a work implies the completely acceptation of these conditions.

FMX 2010 is an event by Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, AIAS Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, 5D: The Future of Immersive Design and ACM Siggraph.

As the primary European event for international experts, FMX 2010 is perfectly complemented by the 17th Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS). The Festival starts simultaneously with FMX on May 04 and ends on May 09 with a prestigious Award Ceremony. ITFS 2010 screens the best animation films from all over the world to an enthusiastic audience and countless international guests, having a permanent spot on the international animation map and being one of Germany's outstanding cultural events.

FMX is an event in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, AIAS Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, ACM Siggraph and 5D Conference. It is hosting the Animation Production Day 2010 (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS). Reed Exhibitions has announced the launch of Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), which will take place April 16-18, 2010 at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago.

As for C2E2, show organizers are planning a major launch. "We are aiming big," said Lance Fensterman, who is VP and Show Manager for NYCC and who will also be overseeing C2E2. "We plan to apply everything we have learned in launching and building New York Comic Con to our Chicago event and we intend for it to be a major attraction right out the gate. Of course, this not only means providing a customer friendly atmosphere but also providing dynamic programming that boasts top talent from across the pop culture spectrum, including artists, creators and celebrities from Hollywood, TV, comics, books, video games, toys, anime, manga and all other applicable aspects of the popular arts. But, most importantly, we will also seek to make adjustments so that our show reflects the essence of Chicago. This will be critically important.
