Animae Caribe is an annual animation and new media festival. It features filmmakers from the Caribbean and the Diaspora. Though its emphasis is animation, the festival promotes experimental film production also. The aims of the festival are to provide a global stage for animators and filmmakers of the region; and provide a learning environment for artists to improve their craft.

Anime Caribe 2005 will provide young persons in the Caribbean and the Diaspora with the opportunity to experience the creativity, innovation and development of the animation, film and new media industry. The events special features include celebrity guests, presenters from the U.K., Europe, U.S. and the Caribbean, gala award ceremony, animation shorts and cinema screenings, workshops and seminars, children

International Open Image (IOI) 2005 provides a channel for a collective of thoughts, skills and ideas to be expressed, explored, discovered and promoted. It is an opportunity for established professionals and emerging talent to have their work appreciated by a mix of their industry peers and the wider public at large. Entries can include the mediums of photography, digital imaging, illustration and painting. The selected showcase entries will be picked for being high quality, contemporary interpretations on the theme of travel. The selected winning entries will be showcased in at an established Central London Trade & Consumer show that has in excess of 15,000 visitors a year. Creative Moments Inc. will hold a Spring 2006 Animation Art Auction. Qualifying bidding will take place on Tuesday, April 4 and final bidding on Wednesday, April 5.

Just like at a regular film festival, visitors can choose from several programs. However, unlike at a regular film festival, they are able to switch easily between viewing locations.

Join the United Nations of Animation in its first experimental project: to create a series of randomly compiled, short animations consisting of original contributions from participants all over the world. To participate, download one of our character files at cias/rit.edu/~UNoA and create an original animation using Flash, Maya, or other animation software. Your finished file can then be emailed to UNoA.Rit@gmail.com. Entries will be accepted between February 5 - 19, 2007. Submitted files will be combined to create a completely unique sequence of animations.

The United Nations of Animation online collaboration event is the result of a team effort designed and implemented by the Advanced Computer Graphics II class in Rochester Institute of Technology

3X3 MAGAZINE is entering its fourth year judging the world's best contemporary illustration judged by some of the world's best illustrators. It has expanded the categories in its professional show to include three categories: children's book illustration -- both published and unpublished; animation; and a separate category for work done specifically for gallery exhibits. This year's categories include our usual advertising, editorial, institutional, books, and unpublished, including self-promotion. And three new categories: children's books, animation and art-for-sale. For the animation category, the judges include: Mario Cavalli, Dave McKean, Run Wrake, Oscar Grillo and Eric Goldberg.
