York Independent Film Festival is an annual competitive festival held in York, England.
The 2002 festival will be held at the University of York on 23rd and 24th of February, and entries are now being accepted.
Deadline for entries is January 12th 2002, and entry is FREE.
Awards are to be given in the following categories:
Best Animation,
Best Documentary,
Best Feature,
Best Short,
Best in Festival.
Entries will be shown in the following formats:- 35mm, 16mm, PAL Beta, PAL DV. Please note: VHS copies are required for selection purposes but films will NOT be screened on this format at the festival.
The festival will be a publicly advertised and attended event (not a students-only festival).

Animac 2002 is an international annual animation show that celebrating its 6th edition from the 14th to 17th of February 2002 in Lleida, Spain. Animac is a non-competitive event that is a platform for the best animation from all times to be screened and in which the animation cinema researches new ways of experimentation and dialog between the different artistic disciplines. Carolina Lopez is leading the project as artistic director and Animac image is created by Carles Porta. Lleida's culture department and a good qualified coordination team support this event. Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival

Every year the Festival offers an international competition (46 countries represented in 2001), a national competition, a competition on-line, a new digital work competition, together with thematic programs (in 2002 : China, Portugal, African Perspectives, Children's Program...) and a short film market. Altogether over 350 short films are offered to a large public, with a total of 129,000 spectators and 2,000 professionals in 2001. Categories for the international competition are: fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films of 40 minutes or less, completed in 2000 or 2001, on optical 16 or 35 mm.

The Knitting Factory in Hollywood presents The Knitting Independent Film Series.


The Knitting Factory -- home of great jazz, alternative and world music -- presents a bi-weekly film series to showcase independent filmmakers from around the world.

Located on Hollywood Blvd., the Knitting Factory is one block from the red carpet of the Kodak Theater and the Academy Awards ceremony.

Local filmmakers now have a state of the art facility to showcase and maintain a visible consortium of artists in the heart of the motion picture world.
The series is open to filmmakers anywhere in the world; residents can hold private screenings for friends and industry members.

The process is easy for filmmakers to present their short or full length film or video.

Telluride IndieFest is an international event that showcases the best independent films and screenplays in the world. All genres are acceptable and multiple entries are allowed. Screenplays should be no longer than 120 pages. Film and video entries are previewed on standard VHS NTSC video (no PAL format). Selected artists may screen their entries during the festival in either Beta SP, Digital Betacam SP or standard VHS. Entry fees vary according to material length and date of entry.
