Golden Sheaf Awards or the Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival offer awards in various categories which include Children's Production, Documentray Over 30 Minutes, Documentray Under 30 Minutes, and Drama Under 60 minutes. Films must be 16mm, BETACAM, BETACAM SP NTSC or VHS NTSC. The entry fee for the competition is CA$100. All films entered must have been completed between March 13, 1999 and February 10, 2000.

The National Film Board of Canada is holding an open house of their new facilities. The event gives the public a chance to meet the filmmakers and staff. The NFB will feature screenings, studio tours and receptions on Monday from 2-6 pm and on Tuesday from 10 am - 5 pm. Screening facilities will be available for visitors to screen their own work as well.
