PRIMANIMA logo

PRIMANIMA is a festival of workshop films, diploma films made by students and first films made by young professionals or non-professionals. All these categories will have a separate competition programme at PRIMANIMA. The Grand Prix of the festival is 2000 Euro, supported by the Council of Budaörs Town.

Why animated?
Why not? Why not have an animated (= fresh, exciting, innovative / related to animation film) festival in one of the most animated (= fresh, exciting, innovative / related to animation film) cities of Hungary, Budaörs?

OK, then why PRIMANIMA?
We believe that a scene is needed to get to know the prime animation film makers of the future so PRIMANIMA focus primarily on them. PRIMANIMA's competition programme, hence, is dedicated to student films, graduation films and first films.

An animated film festival?
PRIMANIMA cannot be not animated because of the
- fresh film screenings – watch the most recent pieces of young animators and animation students from all over the world!
- exciting presentations and workshops – get to know the animation film education, production and history of our neighboring countries!
- innovative forums – learn the most creative achievements of applied animation!

Why then? Why there?
28 October is the International Animation Day, which is celebrated since 2002 by ASIFA. Hungary joined the feast in 2005. Last year, in 2011 Budaörs was the main host of IAD in Hungary, located only 15 minutes from the centre of Budapest.

We are proud to present you PRIMANIMA World Festival of First Animations which will take place 25-28 October 2012 in Budaörs. We truly hope you can join us and get animated, fresh, excited at PRIMANIMA!

Keep informed about PRIMANIMA at www.asifa.hu/primanima2012!
