The 13th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival 2012 will once again be showcasing animated short films produced by animators of Asian ethnicities in a 90-minute all-animation program. All forms of animation (traditional, claymation, stop-motion, flash, CGI, etc) will be accepted for consideration into this competitive festival. Films by all animators (of all ethnicities) pertaining to Asian issues and themes will also be considered. Please submit DVD screeners for consideration. If selected, all films will be screened in glorious HD 1080p format. A Best Animated Short Film Award will be awarded with prizes to be determined.The year 2012 will be SDAFF's 13th year of celebrating the best in Asian Cinema in sunny San Diego. Last year, SDAFF screened over 150 films in 8 days with many industry celebrities in attendance. The all-animation program was a resounding success with 2 sold out shows due to popular demand. David Chai's "Enrique Wrecks The World" took the Best Animated Short Award. Help make SDAFF a success again by submitting your animation and spreading the word to your friends and associates who may also be interested. Scratch! European Animation Film Festival – (1st Edition) 22/23/24 June 2012 – Lecce (Italy)

Scratch! is an European Animation Film Festival at its first edition open to short movies (max. 20 min). Two competitive categories: 3d/VFX and traditional animation, 2d digital animation, mixed media, stop motion.

The Festival will provide also free workshops and retrospectives to participants!

Scratch! will take place in the beautiful baroque town of Lecce, Southern Italy

The AEAF Awards finalists and winners will be shown at a screening event on 17 July 2012.
A panel of judges will select the top ten entries in each category for screening, and the top scoring entry from each will be named category winner and receive the award.

Entrants to the AEAF Awards have the opportunity to show their projects in the AEAF Online Festival.

The World Festival of Animated Film, once a biannual event, will now be held annually and it’s next edition will take place from 10th to 15th of September 2012 in the Festival and Congress Center in Varna. In the rapidly changing world of animation, a two year interval between festival editions seems like a lifetime, so the organizers, with the support of the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and Varna Municipality, decided that from now on, the World Festival of Animated Film will be held every year. This gives the opportunity for the audience always to be on the very edge of animation and at the same time it will keep the festival interesting and fresh.

In other exciting news, it is our privilege to announce a new award that will be handed out for the first time this year – Award for best comedy short film in the name of Donyo Donev.

Dear filmmakers, producers, distributors and friends of animated films, the 7th Anim'est International Animation Film Festival will be waiting for your shorts & features in the next few months. The deadline for submitting your films to the 7th edition of the festival is June 15th.

We are glad to announce the opening of the call for a brand new competitive section: Minimest - reserved for shorts appropriate for children aged 4-12 years old. An award will be presented to one of the shorts, based on a decision made by a jury of children.

Also, starting with 2011, the winner of the Anim'est Trophy is shortlisted for the annual Cartoon d'Or Award.

With a smart and nonconformist audience, Anim'est has become Bucharest's most loved film festival and a growing name on the animation scene of Europe, recognized as a member of the Cartoon European Association of Animation Film since the 5th edition. Our presentations, workshops, masterclasses and round tables provide a great opportunity to get in touch with the latest creations and make contacts

Anibar International Animation Festival – Call for Entries
The 3rd annual Anibar Animation Festival is pleased to announce that the Call for Entries is now open. We invite all filmmakers to submit their animated films for consideration. The call is open till Saturday, June 30, 2012.

Anibar is scheduled for August 22nd - 27th 2012 in Peja, Kosovo.

The Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) returns for a sixth year to digital platform screens across the Toronto subway system, September 7 - 17, 2012, concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Named one of MovieMaker Magazine's "20 Coolest Film Festivals" (2010), TUFF is a 10-day long celebration of the art of the urban silent screen. TUFF films screen on the Pattison Onestop network of digital platform screens to over 1.3 million daily commuters.

Filmmakers, video artists and animators are invited to submit their work to TUFF now at http://www.torontourbanfilmfestival.com

The festival accepts all genres of silent, one-minute film, video and animation that are of interest to a cosmopolitan audience.

Submission deadline is July 15, 2012. Submit free before May 31, 2012. After June 1, 2012 a $20 fee will apply.

TUFF is open to Canadian and international artists, and awards thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. Animation prizes include softward from Toon Boom Animation. 

TUFF is co-produced by Pattison Onestop and Art for Commuters.
