The Bradford Animation Festival (BAF!) is a project of the National Museum of
Photography, Film and Television in England. BAF! is looking specifically for new
animation from all over the world in its eight competitive categories. All submitted
films will be considered for screening and for the eight Festival Awards. The
categories are: Non-Professional under 16; Experimental; Promotional/Commercial;
Non-Professional Adult; Professional; Digital; Films for Children; and TV Series for
Children (one episode from the series).

Eugenio Zanetti: Film Dreams and Haunting Visions

The Academy Foundation Galleries is presenting an exhibition of production designer Eugenio Zanetti's work. The exhibit will highlight Zanetti's Hollywood film designs that combine Gothic and Romanesque styles. Recently Zantetti helped bring to life the evil house in THE HAUNTING. The Argentine-born designer has created amazing visuals for such movies as WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, FLATLINERS and WARRIORS OF VIRTUE. Zanetti took home an Oscar for art direction for his work on RESTORATION. Many of the masters' oil paintings, watercolors, architectural plans, set pieces, props, photographs and video clips will be on display at the gallery. The Academy Gallery is open to the public. Admission is free. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm and weekends from noon to 6 pm.

The New York Animation Festival, in collaboration with Video Lounge, presents Outer Limits, an international series of short animation, experimental, narrative and documentary film and video. Outer Limits will present a vast array of independent and innovative work from more than a dozen countries. An international program featuring animated films by Amy Kravitz (ROOST AND THE TRAP), Dana Behrman (PIGLATIN), Avi Katz (LAST WALTZ IN NEW YORK) and Sylvie Bringas and Orly Yadim (SILENCE) will be held on May 16 at 7:30 pm and May 18 at 9:30 pm. Also a program of new animation from Australia will be screened on June 2 at 7 pm, presented by Melbourne animator Rhian Hinkley. A program of recent Swiss Animation on June 16 at 9 pm and a retrospective of Swiss animator Georges Schwizgebel on June 17 at 7 pm will be presented by Fantoche International Animation Festival.

LFCA 2000 will mark the the Large Format Cinema Association's 4th annual Conference and 3rd annual Large Format Film Festival. The competition is open to all member of the international large format industry. The Festival highlights new and classic works in 15/70 and 8/70, an historical tribute to a pioneer of the large format film industry, and a closing gala featuring a 5/70 Hollywood widescreen classic.
