Established in 1991, the annual DISCOP East market brings together sellers and buyers of finished programs, scripted and unscripted formats, and packaged TV channels.

DISCOP East takes place for three days in Budapest during the third week of the month of June, on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, at the recently renovated 5-Star Sofitel Atrium Hotel located in the heart of the city, on the banks of the Danube river.

The market is built around the pre-organization of meetings between buyers and sellers of television content, formats and packaged TV channels.

Thanks to the efficiency of online “meetings-organization” platform and the expertise of our highly-trained staff, most participants average 40 to 50 meetings over the 3-day DISCOP East.

Major League Gaming Pro Circuit Tour

Major League Gaming (MLG), the professional video game league, is bringing its Pro Circuit tour to San Diego June 13-15, the only West Coast MLG stop in 2008. Thousands of pro gamers, aspiring competitors and spectators will come together for three days of intense competition and entertainment, with over $60,000 in prizes at stake. MLG's season opener at the Meadowlands, New Jersey, USA in March attracted 12,000 attendees and its live broadcasts generated 1.5 million live and on-demand video streams. Admission to the event is free, and spectators can enjoy gaming activities and merchandise giveaways throughout the weekend, as well as be in the audience for MLGPro.com's live broadcasts of ESPN Saturday Night and MLG Championship Sunday. The Webby Film and Video Awards, the leading international honors for original film and video premiering on the Internet, has added 19 new categories, including Music, Sports, Technology, and Travel, as well as new technical categories recognizing excellence in editing, sound design, writing and use of animation. SICAF SPP 2008 Project Competition

Seoul Animation Center under SBA (Seoul Business Agency) is seeking cartoon and animation projects for "SPP 2008 Project Competition" hosted by the SPP (SICAF Promotion Plan), which is part of the 12th Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival (SICAF). The application can be sent via mail or delivered in person by Feb. 29, 2008.

The annual SPP Project Competition is a public competition held by the Asian cartoon and animation market, aiming to identify and nurture commercially viable new projects. Any cartoon and animation being planned or produced in the Asian region is welcome to submit an application.

Last year, 56 projects from seven Asian countries applied for the SPP Project Competition and 15 were selected as finalists, attracting keen attention from renowned international buyers. The finalists this year will be given the opportunity to pitch their projects in front of buyers, investors, and judge committee members from Korea and abroad at the SPP event, with serious follow-up meetings.
