The SDAF showcases unique independent animation from all over the world as well as commercial content from the region. The SoDak Fest also hosts special guest artists to share ideas and inspiration with the public audience. Animation workshops are also held for festival attendees and members of the community. Student work is especially emphasized to support animation education. Prizes are awarded in the form of the coveted "Golden Cowbell Award"!

Past guest artists include animator Patrick Smith, filmmaker and animator PES, indie filmmaker Todd Rohal and Reid Thompson, creative director from Troika Design Group!

New York, NY (August 23, 2010) – Digital designers from all over the world are invited to participate in Cut&Paste’s 2010 Digital Design Tournament. For its third global Digital Design Tournament, Cut&Paste will build on the success of its 2009 world tour, hosting competitions in 2D, 3D and Motion design in 10 cities worldwide, presenting the world’s top stage for designers. Continuing to advance on the elevation and discovery of top talent, Cut&Paste scouts the ten brightest design cities to challenge competitors from all backgrounds across the globe to prove their talents on stage and in the spotlight. Cut&Paste will continue its core mission of gathering a global design community through the design-as-spectator-sport approach that it brings to 2D, 3D and Motion Design.The Call for Competitors opens to the public NOW.
Entries will be reviewed based on quality of portfolios and select candidates will be invited to an in-person “test round” to determine final selections for the live city tournaments. Online entry deadline for the United States is September 17th.The deadline for Europe, Asia and Latin America is October 15th
Cut&Paste will begin its showcase of design’s rising stars in North America with tour stops in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco before visiting Europe in the cities of London and Berlin. Immediately following, Cut&Paste will make its debut in Latin America with stops in Mexico City and Sao Paulo, before traveling to Asia in Bangkok, Tokyo and Seoul. At every tour stop a Grand Prize winner will be selected in each category of 2D, 3D and Motion Design, and chosen to compete in Cut&Paste's most impressive stage, the Global Championship in February 2011. A total of 30 expenses-paid winners will journey to New York City where the locally crowned champions will battle for top honors against the best the world has to offer. 
Cut&Paste’s first live digital design tournament began as a single competition in New York City in 2005. Sponsored by Autodesk®, CGarchitect, and NVIDIA, the Rendering Revolution contest is a global still image architectural visualization competition in celebration of the Autodesk ® 3ds Max® 20th Anniversary and advancements in GPU-accelerated rendering solutions. Participants must create an architectural scene that incorporates the 3ds Max 20th anniversary logo in a recognizable (and creative) form and produce a still image of that scene. Content can be created with any application, but final rendering must be done in 3ds Max 2011 or 3ds Max Design 2011 software using native GPU rendering solutions – Quicksilver or iray® or any GPU-accelerated third-party rendering solution. Participants who do not own 3ds Max or 3ds Max Design 2011 software can download the 30-day trial to use the Quicksilver hardware renderer. iray will be available to Autodesk Subscription customers on September 29, 2010 as part of the Advantage Pack for 3ds Max 2011 and 3ds Max Design 2011. Students can download 3ds Max Design 2011 from the Autodesk Education Community.

Contestants can upload their entries directly to the CGarchitect submissions page starting October 1, 2010. The contest will close on October 31, 2010, and entries will be judged on the basis of artistic merit and originality by a panel of industry judges.

Art Creations Magazine’s “Who’s Creative?2 “ art contest is sponsored and brought to you by  Laniercreations
This contest is all about creativity, composition, technique and execution. The theme of this contest is to just
show your  unique creative expression through your art. Anything goes. Express your creativity to the fullest!

Eligibility:
This contest is only open to members of the Art Creations Magazine site. If you are not yet a member of this
site, signing up is free and only takes seconds. The site is http://www.artcreationsmagazine.com. The contest
 is open to all mediums except film, video, motion graphics/animation, and audio. Examples of acceptable
mediums include computer generated art, painting, textiles and mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, still
frame animation, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry, and drawings.

Prizes:
The TOP 20 images will be represented in the “Who’s Creative?“2 special edition of Art Creations Magazine
which will be issue#05. The following combined prize packages (prize money and images printed in magazine),
totaling $1000.00 USD, will be awarded when the winners are decided.

Entry Fees:

How to submit your images:  
STEP_01
On the Art Creations Magazine site you will first click the ART CONTEST link on the Home Page
to pay and download the entry form. You will have to do this for each individual image submitted.
STEP_02
You will then complete and E-mail your entry form to (artcreationsmagazine@gmail.com).
A conformation E-mail will be sent to you as soon as we receive your entry form and confirm your payment.
STEP_03
You will now upload your contest images to the website just like you would upload any other image to your
Photos on the site. MAKE SURE TO TAG YOUR IMAGE WITH the letters ACM in the tags box of your image.
If your Image is already on the site; then just go back and tag that image with the letters ACM by clicking your
image and next clicking EDIT YOUR TAGS which is located at the bottom right of your image.
Deadline:
Art Creations Magazine reserves the right to postpone all dates listed until such a time that a viable number
of entrants are received to offer a well rounded exhibition. Entrants will be notified via E-mail of any changes
in deadlines. The deadline is scheduled for: DECEMBER 17, 2010
