Starts: Apr 24, 2010 - Ends: Apr 24, 2010
Submission Deadline: Apr 24, 2010

Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics constitute the visual media that promises a huge growth opportunity for talented young people in India. NASSCOM announces a series of power packed workshops for those already in the industry and those who want to enter the industry. These workshops are meant to provide the participants insights into the range of skills that the professionals need to acquire, the technology that enhances the art and how to practice it as a craft.

You will get to interact with the practicing professionals and the industry leaders during the workshops. They will share their experiences and their vision of the direction the industry is headed, along with their expert-presentations on the specific topic of the particular workshop. The series is planned to provide one workshop every 4th Saturday of the month for the next 6 months.

The first workshop is "How to make a Showreel". When an employment opportunity is sought with an organisation, the applicant sends a personal profile in the form of a resume document. The resume that is sent in this field is the "show reel", on a CD or online. It contains some visual content created by the applicant so that the prospective employer understands the capability of the applicant. Most organisations receive a huge number of such content. If you want to get noticed in this clutter, you have to bring out yourself clearly and strongly. This workshop is meant to help you understand how you can and should do that. In the workshop the experts will take you through various illustrations of how it appears from the other side when they look at the showreel and conduct you through various stages of the process with explanations for different specialisation. The "Dos" and "Don'ts" plus examples of live show reels from the workshop will help you make appropriate show reels.
