Shanghai Animation and Cartoon Fair 2002 (SACF) is an annaual exhibition in Shanghai, China. The Fair has the most abundant animation and cartoon resources in China. It is important event for the Chinese animation and cartoon industries. Cartoon Forum is the annual European animation co-financing event, organized by Cartoon Media, the European animation union. The Co-production Forum for European Animation TV-Series Every year over 250 potential investors - all interested in animation - attend the Cartoon Forum. This includes over 100 broadcasters and 150 investors/video editors who have the advantage of getting a sneak preview of the latest animation projects for the television from 18 different European countries. In addition, the annual Cartoon d'Or prize will be given during the closing session. Five European films will be chosen as candidates based on their award-winning performances at selected European animation festivals. The money given is to finance a new film, suitable for television.

Art Seminars - Seminars, as always, will include the ubiquitous and fun cel painting classes! Drawing, modelling, and so forth are planning in various degrees, and Tom Grossman, modeller extraordinaire, will host a 'Make and Take' modelling session where kids under 16 can come and get a model to work on for free! Artist Newton Ewell will also teach special sessions on drawing Characters for Manga and Mecha for Manga. Too cool....

Drawing historians, scholars and filmmakers from around the globe, the Society will celebrate this achievement with its 14th annual conference in Glendale, California, September 26-29, 2002. Taking place in the recital hall of the landmark Brand Library & Art Center, this year's conference will focus on a wide range of topics, including: Anime; Technology; Culture, Gender and Identity; Childhood; Theory and Criticism; Feature Film Production; and Disney (in honor of Walt Disney's 100th birthday).
