Gen Art and Planet Green Game, a partnership between Starbucks and Global Green USA, offer seven filmmakers an opportunity to share their thoughts, concerns, hopes and visions about the growing climate crisis by showcasing their "Green" themed short films through the Gen Art Online Film Festival. The festival will take place online and "in world" at PlanetGreenGame.com. Through online voting, one of the seven filmmakers will win $2,500 plus and a premiere screening at the 12th annual Gen Art Film Festival, presented by Acura, in New York City.
A panel of judges from Gen Art, one of the leading arts and entertainment organizations dedicated to showcasing the best emerging talent in film, fashion, visual arts and music, will choose the seven "Green" themed short films based on originality, quality of filmmaking and poignancy of "Green" theme. From March 29 to April 13, 2007, the seven shorts will be available for viewing and voting on www.genartfestival.com/online and through an interactive avatar based environment on planetgreengame.com.
A premiere at the 12th Annual Gen Art Film Festival will be an opportunity for the winning filmmakers to enhance their career by exposing their work to a powerful audience, gaining crucial media exposure and strengthening industry relations.
