Sundance Film Festival

The 2004 Sundance Film Festival is the premiere independent film festival in the U.S. This year, the festival is introducing the inaugural Jury Prize in International Short Filmmaking. International short films under 30 minutes in length are eligible for the prize, to be selected by the Short Film Jury. Films must have less than 50% U.S. financing to qualify as an international submission. Founded by Robert Redford in 1981, Sundance Institute is dedicated to the development of artists of independent vision and the exhibition of their new work. Since its inception, the Institute has grown into an internationally recognized resource for filmmakers and other artists. Sundance Institute conducts national and international labs for filmmakers, screenwriters, composers, writers and theater artists. The annual Sundance Film Festival, a major program of Sundance Institute, is held each January. The 2004 Sundance Film Festival will be held January 15-25 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah. Below is a list of the various submission deadlines:

2004 Bangkok International Film Festival

The 2004 Bangkok International Film Festival, the official film festival endorsed by the Royal Thai Government, will feature an estimated 150 films, special events, seminars and panels, as well as a competition in 9 different categories and the presentation of the second annual Golden Kinnaree Awards, the festival's award for excellence in International Filmmaking. One of the new highlights of festival will be its focus on ASEAN Cinema. This ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations) section will feature films from the 10 South East Asian countries -- Thailand, Vietnam, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. This will be a competitive program with a Golden Kinnaree to be awarded for Best ASEAN Film.
