Every 1,000 years in Hell they elect a new Satan, and the reigning Satan must take over the body of a mortal and seek out his successor, the most evil human alive. The new Satan assumes the body of a burnt out FBI profiler working on one of the worst serial killing cases in Los Angeles, while inheriting a disgruntled ex-wife, a promiscuous 15 year-old daughter and a lesbian partner.
