PGA Presents Producing Magic On Time And On Budget Mixer

The PGA New Media Council and the Visual Effects Society are hosting a mixer and discussion panel titled "Producing Magic On Time And On Budget." Attendees will be able to meet the producers and executives behind such film and television productions as SPIDERMAN 2, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, THE LAST SAMURAI, and POLAR EXPRESS. The event will take place on Aug. 19, 2004 at Sony Imageworks Theatre, 9050 West Washington Boulevard, Culver City, California 90232. Moderator, Jenny Fulle, joined Sony Pictures in 1997 to become svp of production and exec producer. In addition to her role as exec producer, she also manages the feature production department. The focus will be on key issues of visual effects production, including project bidding, budgeting, pre-visualization, pipelines, digital asset management, and employment opportunities. Panelists include: * Mike Chambers is a freelance vfx producer. He produced the visual effects for THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, EVOLUTION, BABE 2: PIG IN THE CITY, VOLCANO, TRUE LIES, STRANGE DAYS, PAULIE: A PARROT'S TALE, THE ABYSS and DIE HARD. * Matt Gore has been creating effects for television for over a decade. He has coordinated, supervised and produced visual effects for shows such as THE TWILIGHT ZONE, DINOSAURS, TURBO-CHARGED THUNDERBIRDS, THE OUTER LIMITS, SEVEN DAYS, RED SKIES, THE TICK, and STRANGE FREQUENCY. He recently completed work on the John Woo directed pilot, LOST IN SPACE, and is working on the Emmy nominated series BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. * Christian Kubsch has produced and managed more than two dozen visual effects and animation productions. His credits include HARRY POTTER & THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, MATRIX RELOADED, SPAWN, MARS ATTACKS!, TITANIC and THE MASK. He also produced Lucas Digital
