"Wallace & Gromit: A Matter Of Loaf And Death" by Nick Park took the special jury prize. Even though they are masters of the art, these filmmakers were pleased and genuinely touched by the recognition.

CORALINE director Henry Selick has departed Laika after unsuccessfully renegotiating his contract, which expired at the end of last month. However, the stop-motion legend will continue to work with the Portland, Oregon-based animation studio and Focus Features in promoting CORALINE through the awards season. Selick was not available for comment, but, according to a Laika spokesperson, he was not formally attached to any Laika projects following CORALINE.

Yahoo has posted the first trailer to Wes Anderson's stop-motion feature FANTASTIC MR. FOX. Based on the Roald Dahl book, the story follows Mr. Fox as he tries to finally take down three nasty farmers after they come after his family. The voice cast includes George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Willem Dafoe, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Cox, Adrien Brody, Anjelica Huston, and Michael Gambon. The film arrives in theaters on Nov. 13, 2009.
