Hot on the heels of the hugely successful first edition of the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival, we are officially opening the Call for Entries for 2011.

To enter your film in the festival, download a submission form, fill it out, and send it in, along with your film.

Deadline for film submissions is: September 26, 2011.

Please refer to the entries section on our website for answers to any questions you might have concerning eligibility, dates, accepted formats, and new rules. 

This year, the professional segment has been updated with a new category for films-commercials less than 1 minute in running time and we will have more guest appearance during this week-end long event that promises to be super cool!

The festival will be held in Montreal, from the 21st to the 23rd of October 2011.

Se-ma-for Film Festival ( international festival of stop motion animation techniques) takes place in Lodz / Poland/ on 22nd-25th September 2011 and in Lugano /Switzerland/ on 21st-23rd October 2011.
The Festival Organizers are: Se-ma-for Film Foundation based in Lodz /Poland/ and its Swiss representative based in Lugano /Switzerland/.
Se-Ma-For Film Festival (international festival of puppet animation and other three-dimensional stop-motion animation techniques)  is the second worldwide and the only European festival dedicated to stop-motion, especially puppet and three-dimensional animation. Festival consists of three main elements:
- competition screenings of international competition for best stop-motion animation,
- Polish animation industry competition
- special screenings (thematic, historical, monographic) presenting variety and endless possibilities of stop-motion animation techniques.
Broad and multidimensional programme of Se-ma-for Film Festival includes: workshops, exhibitions, meetings with artists, seminar, concerts, performances, presentations of equipment and software for animated films production. Moreover, one of Festival’s aims is to create an international forum devoted to the issues of stop-motion animation and children cinema.

Attention animators! The 12th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival 2011 will once
again be showcasing animated short films produced by animators of Asian
ethnicities in a 90-minute all-animation program. All forms of
animation (traditional, claymation, stop-motion, flash, CGI, etc) will
be accepted for consideration into this competitive festival. Films by
all animators (of all ethnicities) pertaining to Asian issues and themes
will also be considered. Please submit DVD screeners for consideration.
 If selected, all films will be screened in glorious HD 1080p format. A
Best Animated Short Film Award will be awarded with prizes to be
determined.

The year 2011 will be SDAFF's 12th year of celebrating the best in Asian
Cinema in sunny San Diego. Last year, SDAFF screened over 150 films in 8
days with many industry celebrities in attendance. The all-animation
program was a resounding success with 2 sold out shows and 1 encore
screening due to popular demand. THE WONDER HOSPITAL, by Shimbe Shim
took the Best Animated Short Award.

GIRAF is now looking for Animation submissions, in all styles, genres, lengths, and mediums.


GIRAF, or the Giant Incandescent Resonating Animation Festival (est 2005), is an annual animation festival that runs each November at the Plaza Theatre in Calgary.  GIRAF celebrates the spirit of independent, underground, and experimental animation, showcasing Canadian animators and presenting diverse animations from around the globe. We’ve showcased the award winning independent work artists including Don Hertzfedlt, Bruce Bickford, Brandon Bloomaert, Barry Doupe, Cordell Barker, Richard Reeves, Chad Van Gaalan, Nick Fox-Geig, Amy Lockhart, Stu Hughes, Madi Piller, and Cam Christiansen, among many others.


Our programs are a strong eclectic mix of animation, representing the best of the medium from Claymation to CG. We focus on presenting independent animations that push boundaries through new techniques, unique visions, and stimulating subject matter.

We DO NOT CHARGE A SUBMISSION FEE, and encourage short and feature length local, national, and international submissions
