Fluid’s VFX Provide Answer for Reebok Campaign

Fluid provided the visual effects for a :30 Reebok spot, launching the Answer IX shoe and featuring NBA superstar point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers Allen Iverson. Developed through mcgarrybowen (New York, NY), the spot, titled 10 YEARS OF HEART, promotes Reeboks Answer IX shoe with the pump technology that offers the perfect fit by surrounding the foot with an automatic, form fitting air chamber that you can turn on or off as needed. The spot debuted on ESPN nationally on Oct 18.

ka-chew! Promotes Hallmark's Hauntington Keepsake Ornament Collection

Hallmark Channel and its parent company Hallmark Cards have teamed with ka-chew! to create an on-air vignette campaign designed to promote the retailer's "Hauntington U.S.A. Keepsake Collection," a special decorative collection that celebrates the fun spirit of Halloween. The vignette campaign was conceived and developed by Hallmark Channel's Sponsorship Solutions Unit and produced by ka-chew!, which has created two, 30-second spots to air exclusively on Hallmark Channel throughout October. This campaign marks the only on-air promotion that the ornament collection will receive this year.

A52 served as the director for a recent HD spot titled Keyhole, as part of advertising agency RPAs massive year-long multiplatform marketing campaign for the all-new 2006 Honda Civic.

A52s collective features the talents of CG/vfx supervisor Andrew Hall and co-vfx supervisor Pat Murphy, and also relies upon the creative involvement of Rock Paper Scissors editor Angus Wall.

Nickelodeon Debuts Second Breakfast PSA Series

Nickelodeon unveils the second of its PSA on-air series, which focuses on the importance of breakfast. The spot, entitled "It's Breakfast Time," animated by Klasky Csupo's commercial division ka-chew!, is based on research findings that Nickelodeon released this summer, and features animated utensils rhyming and singing about breakfast foods as needed sources of energy for the start of the day. Antics Technologies recently helped TENFOUR Media deliver three :20 commercials for the forthcoming Virgin Radio TV campaign, The Music We All Love. The three pieces were shot in HD and edited on VelocityHD at ahc Post. Given the need to see more than a 2D version of the storyboard, and the tight schedule, TENFOUR Media approached Antics to use its Pre-Viz tool to work out some of the more complex aspects of the shoot.

Its a scramble for maximum hang time as visual effects and animation company Quiet Man recently completed CUBED, a :15 spot for Adidas and distributor Foot Locker. The commercial began airing Aug. 17.

We really achieved the look we wanted in this project, something sleek and sophisticated but still conveying that the shoes are available and accessible to everyone, said Amy Taylor, exec director of Quiet Man.

Baraka Post Creates VFX for New Paddingtons’ Music Video

Baraka Post Production recently completed vfx and other post duties on a new rock and roll pop promo titled 50 TO A £ (POUND) for indie band, The Paddingtons, directed by Caswell Coggins and produced by Patrick Holtkamp from Draw Pictures. Tom Bird at Mercury Records commissioned the video.

The music video portrays the band smashing up a pub-kind-of-gig and initiating a rather considerable punch-up.

Rhythm + Hues Commercial Studios, collaborating with Peterson Milla Hooks/Minneapolis, has created a new campaign for Target featuring a fully CGI dog who has learned a whole lot of new tricks.

The Target ads are fresh and hip so we were thrilled to be a part of this campaign, says Amy Hassler, exec producer/director of marketing. It was a creative convergence for our studio on a variety of levels: it showcased our art direction and seamless Flame compositing capabilities and gave us the opportunity to create a CGI version of the iconic Target dog.

Huge crowd scenes were needed for Carlton Draughts latest advertising epic, the BIG AD, a hilarious parody of pompous beer ads, with an ode to BRAVEHEART comprised of unlikely armies of choral-robed gladiators singing about the glories of beer, accompanied by the bombastic CARMINA BURANA.

Animal Logic created 3D computer-generated human extras for all the large, aerial crowd shots, clothed them in flowing robes and then brought them into Massive, the award-winning AI-driven crowd simulation software from Massive Software.

Global Mechanic recently completed the final commercial in a four-spot campaign for Kelloggs Eggos. Agency Leo Burnett hired Global Mechanic to design the characters, concept the ideas, shoot the product and then animate the spots. The agency creative team really wanted to focus on building a collection of characters each with a different funny personality, said Global Mechanic exec producer Matthew Charde.

David and I talked about a scene that takes place entirely in the confines of an executives workspace, explained Ed Ulbrich, Digital Domains svp/gm. He envisioned the objects in the office coming to life under the right circumstances. The difficulty was finding the right project.

DARE is the latest single from Gorillaz's celebrity strewn DEMON DAYS CD, and this time round the video sees the cartoon heroes being joined by the head of Shaun Ryder. Compositing involving 3D backgrounds, 2D animation and live-action footage of Shaun Ryder's head had was by Passion Pictures and The Mill ran two Flame machines for three days to finished their portion of the work. As usual all the characters have been designed by the ferociously talented Jamie Hewlett.

EVERYDAY HEROES, a recent :60 Budweiser spot from Waylon Ad in St. Louis, marked the first time that A52 has used Massive, the AI-driven animation system from Massive Software that is currently in V. 2.0.

Back in April, Anheuser-Busch announced its Heres to the Heroes cross-country tour, sending an eight-horse Clydesdale team from New York and a second from San Francisco, each accompanied by its own mobile television studio, to major cities along the routes to St. Louis, where both teams will meet on July 3.
