"Best Animated Film" Golden Globe?

I guess there's a new category in the Golden Globes:

"The musical penguin tale "Happy Feet," the talking autos comedy "Cars" and the spooky children's flick "Monster House" were nominated for best animated film of 2006."

My money's on Cars, even though I haven't seen Happy Feet. Neither Cars nor Monster House were very good, but Cars at least had beautiful backgrounds. Paul Newman was also great.

I don't want to start a fight here. Especially being sorta new and all...

but...

Does it bother anyone else that two out of the three films nominated are primarily mocap?

From what I've read, Happy Feet was only mocapped during the dance sequences. I haven't yet seen it, so I'm going on what I've read.

Regardless, you bring up an interesting point.

Honestly, I haven't seen it myself.

I thought I had read that the dancing and the main characters' bodies (mom and dad and such) were all mocap for the entire film, but the faces were keyframed.

I could be misremembering, though.

In the spirit of full disclosure, the house in Monster House was totally keyframed, only the "humans" were mocap.
