Artur Correia is a very well known Portuguese director and the illustrator of several comics. He has been awarded in Portugal and abroad, namely in the International Animation Film Festival of Annecy, France. Artur is a member of the jury in various international festivals.

 

Matos Barbosa runs a Cine-club, has directed several animation films and was an author of drawings, illustrations and comics for the press. Matos is a member of the jury in international festivals dedicated to cinema and was President of the Jury Cinanima 84.

 

Carvalho Baptista has always been in contact with activities like cinema, photography, and painting. A big enthusiast of the animation cinema, he was one of the major promoters and monitors of the first initiation courses organized by Clube Microcine, in Lisbon. Carvalho is a member of CINANIMA's Organizing Committee.

 

Between 1990 and 1994, Jose' Miguel attended animation course, animation training in France, and animated volume in Portugal. In 1995, CINANIMA awarded him the prize for Best Didactic and Information Film for the film "O Banquete da Rainha." Presently, Jose' is teaching animation courses in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

 

Valentin Carrera comes to Cinanima with a degree in philosophy and educational sciences from the University of Santiago, Spain. For more than 25 years Valentin has worked in the press, radio and TV. Presently, he is producer of Ibisa TV and a professor of audiovisual communication at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Valentin was also the Co-producer of the Portuguese animation series, "Alfredo."
