CINANIMA 97. The 21st edition of the International Animated Film Festival will be held from the 11th to the 16th of November in the city of Espinho, the Portuguese center for animation. It was in 1977, that the magic art of animation emerged from this city located in the Northern Coast of Portugal.
A festival that endures 21 years with the dedication, commitment and professionalism of several people that insist on the promotion of the cinematic art that has been the pioneer in the area of the moving image. A special way of expressing, compared to poetry in writing.
Year after year, Espinho welcomes hundreds of stories,
different techniques and the human value of various directors, producers
and journalists coming from all over the world.
Cinanima is a festival with it's own characteristics and purposes that insists
on the education of new directors and the recognition of this particular
area of cinema. Every year, in the warmth of November Autumn, this fishermen's
city is the stage for animation and an exchange of experiences that provide
both individual and global growth through the films presented here, with
the kindness of the citizens and the ocean as scenery. From the 11th to
the 16th of November, we'll be waiting for you!
