Prizes


To analyse the Portuguese works that are in International Competition and to award the following prizes: PRIZE FNAC (Best Portuguese script); PRIZE CARTOON PORTUGAL and PORTO 2001 (best Portuguese film). This Jury is constituted by:

Paulo Cambraia - (President) - Producer at Megatoon. President of Cartoon Portugal (Portuguese Association of Animation).

Jorge Campos - Journalist. Director at RTP. Director of the Cinema, Audiovisual and Multimedia Department of Porto 2001.

Manuel Matos Barbosa - Director. Member of a Film Society. Painter. Member of several Selection Juries in Cinanima and other international festivals.

Eugénia Dantas - Teacher. Former member of IPACA. Jury member of several international festivals.

Amélia Martins - Visual Arts teacher. Painter and Sculptor. Directed some short animated films. Works as a teacher at the School António Arroio, Lisbon.


To give the Prize to the Best Original Soundtrack, a prize sponsored by NUMÉRICA, here's the Jury:

Fernando Augusto Rocha - Director and Manager of Numérica. Directed feature films, video clips and others. Producer of several national bands.

Osvaldo Ferreira - Musician. One of the most prestiged musicians in our country. He has studied and was awarded in such different countries as Russia and the United States of America.

António Costa Valente - Producer, director. Member of the Board of Directors of Cartoon Portugal, President of the Avanca Cineclube and Director of the International Meetings of Cinema, Television, Video and Multimedia held also in Avanca. The series that he's been producing have revealed to be a success in TV Channels, such as "Alfredo", already broadcast on SIC. He is also one of the directors of the first Portuguese feature film "João Mata Sete", financed by ICAM. Responsible for the organization of several programmes of live action films, being also a producer. Teaches Communication and New Technologies at the University in Aveiro. The workshops he organises in Avanca are great attractive to professionals and students from all over the country. These workshops, given by international professionals, are of great importance in the national scene. There are those who claim that this festival is the "Woodstock of Cinema". What about that?!
