SCRIPT/BEST PORTUGUESE
FILM There are seven films in the International Competitive Programme, namely "Clandestino" by Abi Feijó, "Cof-Cof" by José Pedro Cavalheiro, "Fragmentos de Sal" by Cristina Teixeira, "Avanca 2000" by Vítor Lopes, "Miragem" by Ana Carina Dias and "Inverno" and "Racismo" both directed by a group of young people from the Calouiste Gulbenkian Foundation. These are the films that, besides the Category they are competing in, and to be evaluated by the International Jury, are also candidates to the Prize Fnac (Best Portuguese Script) and to the Prize Cartoon Portugal (Best Portuguese Film). Each prize has a money award of PTE 200,000. And heres the Jury who will judge them: EUGÉNIA DANTAS Degree in History. Author and producer of several exhibitions. Worked in the Portuguese Institute of Cinema from 1991 to 1996. Professor, she is the responsible co-ordinator of the Schools Video Club and Archive. In 1991 she was member of the Jury Cartoon Portugal. RODRIGO AFFREIXO Degree in Modern Languages and Literature. Worked in the Teatro Nacional de S. João (under the direction of Ricardo pais), as Press responsible and texts editor. Journalist in the section Culture/ Entertainment and writes for several newspapers and Portuguese magazines. FERNANDO MATEUS Video and radio producer also works as a teacher at the Universidade Moderna. Linked to several activities in cinema, television and multimedia. Journalist since 1975, he has been collaborating with numerous publications. Board Member of the Ulisses Festival. BEST SOUNDTRACK MANUEL CRUZ He began singing and drawing since very young. He doesnt like biographies, therefore we dont know much about this Jury member. Leading vocal of the band "Ornatos Violeta" and cartoonist in several national newspapers. FERNANDO ROCHA - Musician, engineer, music and cinema producer. Founded the recording studios, Aurastudio, and the records and multimedia editor, Numérica, being the manager of both of them. He has produced and edited several records and, recently, he produced and directed the feature film, "Trânsito Local". AMÉRICO SANTOS He has been linked to the cineclubs movement since the end of the eighties. Director of the Federação Portuguesa sde Cineclubes from 1992 to 1993. Co-founded the Cineclube da Feira, in 1995, where he still works as programmer. Ever since its foiundation, hes been the director of the Festival de Cinema Luso-Brasileiro de Santa Maria da Feira'. |
