The WIA Writers' Seminar Group meets Thursday, July 8, 7:30 pm at Saban
Entertainment, 10960 Wilshire Blvd. at the corner of Midvale in Los

An Evening with the Professionals meets every third Thursday of the
month. This is a studio field trip series which brings the audience
into a different studio each month to talk to industry professionals about
a topic that changes monthly. The topic for July 17 (7-9 pm) is, "What
writers should know about producers." It is hosted by Rhythm & Hues, and
the speakers include Ken Roupenian (Producer at Rhythm & Hues), Karey
Maltzahn (2D/Post Exececutive Producer at Rhythm & Hues), Lynne Southerland

The graduates of the University of Wales College Newport's animation
program will be presenting a screening of their work on Friday, July 2nd
1999 at 6 pm. The screening will be held at De Lane Lea, Dean Street,
London, England in the college's newly refurbished preview cinema. The
films are a mixture of techniques and styles, from an abstract musical
collaboration with renowned percussionist Evelyn Glennie working directly
on film, to a cel-based narrative piece that makes SOUTH PARK look tame.

animation and effects works created by people from around the world and

The Gathering 1999: Gargoyles World Tour, a convention devoted to Disney's
GARGOYLES TV series, will include an art show, workshops, a dealer's room,
a gaming session, a radio show script-reading, a charity auction, and a

On Wednesday, June 23 at 7:30 pm in Burbank, California, Jerry Beck and Tom
Sito will host a two hour presentation of the worst cartoons ever made. The
program will include one episode each of such cartoons as BUCKY AND PEPITO,
POW WOW THE INDIAN BOY, THE FUNNY COMPANY, JOHNNY CYPHER IN DIMENSION ZERO,
a King Features POPEYE cartoon, a very violent HERMAN AND KATNIP cartoon,

Disney villains come to The Cartoon Art Museum

The Cartoon Art Museum presents a show of animation art from the collection
of Mike and Jean Glad featuring Disney villains. Marc Davis, animator of
Thumper, Tinkerbell, Malificent, and many other Disney characters, as well
as other Disney artists, will appear, although they will not be doing
autographs. The opening takes place on Saturday, June 19, 1999, 6-8 pm, but
the show begins on June 16 and continues through September 5, 1999. The

hand at ASIFA-Hollywood's "A Looney Tunes Reunion" on Saturday, June 19, 11
