DANCING PIXEL FESTIVAL calls for entries

Animation Magazine and Brilliant Digital Entertainment, Inc., a producer of
3-D animated content on the Internet and a developer of animation tools and
technology, have announced that they will co-host the Dancing Pixel
Festival. Dancing Pixel will be the first all 3-D real-time animation
festival on the Internet. Animators, both professionals and aspirants, are
invited to submit their work for public viewing and judging on the festival
site. Submissions will be taken from October 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999.

MILIA D'OR 2000 calls for entries

MILIA 2000, the World's Interactive Content Marketplace, will take place
February 14-18, 2000 in Cannes, France. The sixth edition of the MILIA d'Or
Awards - The World's Interactive Content Awards will be sponsored for the
second consecutive year by DVD FORUM, an international association
dedicated to developing DVD formats and promoting its broad acceptance.
Awards categories include interactive (games, family entertainment and
learning), as well as Interactive TV, e-commerce and online entertainment.

The 19th Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film Festival takes place February

Art In Motion calls for entries

Art In Motion focuses on innovative content and diversity. The criteria for
entry is time rather than medium based, and therefore video, film and
digital projects, animations, Websites, CD-Roms etc. are all eligible.
Hybrids are particularly welcome. The festival will take place on January
28, 2000 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The
deadline for entries is November 1, 1999. There will be a $1000 "Best of
Show" award and "first place" allocations in each exhibition category. For

NPAR 2000 is the first international
symposium dedicated to non-photorealistic animation and rendering,
including cartoon animation systems and techniques. It takes place at the
International Animated Film Festival of Annecy, France, July 5-9, 2000 in

New York International Children's Film Festival calls for entries

The East Coast's largest film festival for young people seeks works for
ages 3-16. The festival takes place February 4-13, 2000 in New York City.
It accepts shorts, features, animation, documentary, narrative and
experimental film and video. To qualify, works must be completed no earlier
than July 1, 1997. Foreign language films must be dubbed or subtitled in
English. The festival is looking for passionate, creative, intelligent,

Nashville calls for entries

The 31st Annual Nashville Independent Film Festival 2000 takes place in
Nashville, Tennessee from June 7-11, 2000. The competition will include new
two categories, Television Pilot/Episodic Television and Family and
Children's Films, in addition to the already existing features, animation,
documentary, short films, and young filmmakers categories. The early
