Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) is bringing its big animated series, ASTRO BOY, to MIP-TV at stand M5.01. Netherlands-based AVRO will be bringing Lloyd Entertainment's first TV production, DIP & DAP at MIP-TV. The series began airing in The Netherlands and Belgium in fall 2003. New series of episodes are already in production. The show follows baby giraffes, male Dip and female Dap, as they meet their new surroundings. The characters and animation are based on illustrations by Jet Middag. The first series of 10x5 episodes was geared for children from 2 and up.

VITAMINIX (31x2) is Icon's first co-production with Digital y Cual. The series seeks to introduce the world of food and their vitamin and mineral content to adults and children. The Flash production is finished and available worldwide.

Malaysian animation studio INSPIDEA (combining inspiring and ideas) will participate in MIP-TV at stand 13.24 and is bringing JOHAN, THE YOUNG SCIENTIST, a new 26x12 animated series about a child whose inquisitive nature leads him to a great deal of scientific adventures and discoveries.

“JOHAN, THE YOUNG SCIENTIST is designed to boost a child’s awareness about simple scientific ideas in our everyday life,” said Andrew KH, head of production & distribution at INSPIDEA.

Peak Entertainment Holdings Inc. has acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to the new TV concept, FAIREEZ, from Moody Street Kids in Australia.

FAIREEZ is a new animated TV show (52x11) targeting kids 5-7 featuring four intrepid trainees – Gabby, Polly, Tucker and Tim – who do their best to foil the plans of the bad-tempered, feckless and wet-blanket-baddie: Jumpalina.

MIP-TV News: Colorland Brings New Series & Special to MIP-TV

Colorland Animation will bring a new series and special to MIP-TV at booth 14.29. Executives attending include company founder Louis Sek.

IN SEARCH OF SANTA is an 80-minute CGI special. Colorland co-produced the project with Tundra Prods. Inc. The story follows pure-hearted penguin princess Crystal and her skeptical sister Princess Lucinda as they embark on a daring pole-to-pole search to find Santa Claus. Scheduled for completion in 2004, the film is produced by Bill Kowalchuk and Sek with Kowalchuk directing. TV and video rights, excluding North America, are available.
