Animated feature film “Chico & Rita”, winning director Fernando Trueba (“Belle Epoque”) Mariscal, will open the 13th edition of Cartoon Movie on 2 March in Lyon, France.

In a report on Variety, the trade publication highlights the big names in live-action that will be involved in this year's Cartoon Movie.

Directors and companies from France, Belgium, Sweden, Spain and Poland have been nominated as finalists for Cartoon Movie 2010 Tributes, the awards for outstanding contribution to the development of European animation over the last year.
