Fox Releases Trailer for Upcoming 'Napoleon Dynamite' Animated Series

Fox has released a teaser trailer for their midseason 2012 animated series Napoleon Dynamite. The series, based on the 2004 cult classic film of the same name, teams the original cast behind the lineup of odd-duck characters.

Why Do Many Writers & Artists Hate Self-Promotion?

A funny thing happened on the way to my Facebook page.  A handful of professional contacts refused to be my friend, not because they didn’t like me, but because they weren’t on Facebook.  The interesting thing was that they seemed to take pride in not being on Facebook.  This reminded me of something I’ve noticed over my career, an odd anomaly about many writers and artists: They don’t like to promote themselves.  Not a good idea!

Allen Gregory Gets Slotted on FOX

FOX has added the new animated series ALLEN GREGORY to its fall lineup, reports Variety. The trade pub says the 20th Century Fox Television and Chernin Entertainment production will take the 8:30 pm slot in the Animation Domination Sunday schedule. The move will likely push the debut of the second season of BOB'S BURGERS to midseason.

Cartoon Network’s new The Looney Tunes Show

Lord knows I had my reservations about the entire affair. Trying to do something with these characters outside of the short cartoon format where they were at their best has always been risky; with one or two exceptions (like say, Taz-mania), the less said about efforts like Loonatics Unleashed, Space Jam or Looney Tunes: Back in Action, the better. But in brief, my personal reaction to the first episode… The Looney Tunes show works. I like this show – a lot, as a matter of fact.
