Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival (SICAF) is calling for entries. The fesvial is one of the acknowledged international animation festivals in Asia, accredited by ASIFA International. This year, SICAF is celebrating its 13th edition, with more than 1,500 expected entries from Asia, Europe, the Americas and beyond.

Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA) announces a call for entries for the 2009 SPJA Industry Awards, one of the most prestigious awards that can be given to any studio and/or individual within the Anime/Manga industries to be held during the Industry Reception at the nation's largest Anime/Manga convention Anime Expo 2009 (July 2-5, 2009; www.anime-expo.org).
ASIFA-East is now accepting entries for the 40th Animation Festival. Films are due by March 2, judging begins March 10 and the awards ceremony will be May 3.
Only up-to-date ASIFA-East members may vote in the jury screenings, but it is possible to join or renew a membership that evening. Non members are welcome to attend, but will not be allowed to vote

Stella Artois, film networking site TriggerStreet.com and award-winning actor Kevin Spacey announced a new award program designed to help independent filmmakers. The program, called the Stella Artois Short Film Project, will provide a $50,000 cash award to one lucky filmmaker who submits an entry to TriggerStreet.com. The film, which must be no longer than 10 minutes, will be judged by the TriggerStreet.com community as well as a panel of high-level actors, directors and producers. The first winner will be unveiled and his/her short film premiered later this year.
