The characters are species at risk of extinction who take a journey together to find new friends on other continents. The show is designed to teach children about environmental protection and preservation. The series was developed in 2007 and targeted at the global market.

  • Story/Production Note

“Yoohoo and Friends. A journey to look for Land of Greens!!” Yoohoo the Bush Baby Monkey, Pammee the Fennec Fox, Roodee the Capuchin Monkey, Chewoo the Red Squirrel, and Lemmee the Lemur Monkey. These five friends were enjoying a peaceful life together as growing Trees of Life. However, due to environment contamination, the Tree of Life suffers… then a Green Seed in the Tree was accidently blown away to the Earth by Yoohoo and Friends. Yoohoo and Friends went on a journey to find the Green Seed. Throughout the journey, Yoohoo and Friends help friends in danger or get help from new friends as they retrieving the Green Seed one by one. Would it be possible for Yoohoo and Friends to return safely to their home?

Yoohoo and Friends provides an excellent opportunity for children to learn from this collection of animals at risk of distinction who represent each continent. The story delivers a message that we need to preserve environment.

Yoohoo and Friends was aired on Korea Broadcasting System television first and soon will be introduced to worldwide audience via Al Jazeera (UAE), Detskiy (Russia), BBC World (Croatia). The company has been developing a variety of merchandises based on Yoohoo and Friends characters. Among them, plush toy lines made US$150 million in 2009.

Characters are exceptionally unique and cute. The company won an award presented by Korea Creative Content Agency in 2009. Yoohoo and Friends has many ‘teachable moments’ about the environment, rare species, and cultural inheritance, which appeals to both children and parents.
