Company Profile

CHARACTERKOREA Co., Ltd. is a specialized character and animation planning and production company. The company’s character and character licensing business, established in 1999, has been expanding based on their planning expertise and the growth of its global network of projects.

Currently, CHARACTERKOREA Co., Ltd. is actively pursuing the Character Brand Business and OSMU(One Source Multi Use) project centered on our representative character ‘KAMBU’. The project includes the development of such creative and competitive multi contents as 3D animation, musical, game, and publishing.

Animation:

‘Kambu’s Love Diary’ (1’ X 30 episodes): Airing on four kids cable channels
‘Don Quixote Kambu’ (11’ x 52 episodes): Pilot complete
‘Kambu’s Mystery Island’ (5’ X 52 episodes): A 3D animated series currently under development which will be completed by October 2010. The series is expected to be aired on August 2010.
TV series animation will enter a planning stage as of March 2010
‘Kambu’s Mystery Island’ season 2 will enter a planning stage in 1H 2011

Multi-Contents:            

Publication: Children’s book is expected to publish based on ‘Kambu’s Mystery Island’Musical: A musical is expected to go on stage in 2010 summer based on ‘Kambu’s Mystery Island’

Children’s theme park: The largest scale of theme park was open in December 2009, and expects more 200,000 attendees in 2010.

Character Business:

Currently more than 30 character products and content providers are signed a licensing agreement for 40 items.  
The company’s goal for 2010 is to license more than 100 items through cross marketing and animation.

Kambu: A chubby character with a unibrow and yellow eyes was developed first for a 3D flash animation series in 2002. The Kambu character has been widely used for flash animation, mobile and internet contents and becomes a national character.

Animation Kambu’s Mystery Island: The animation is set in a mysterious and strange island and shows an adventure of a postman Kambu. It is the first TV animation features Kambu (5 minutes x 52 episodes). The animation is targeted at age 5 to 7 and stimulates the audience’s creativity and fun by providing an easy-to-understand yet interesting storyline. Kambu’s Mystery Island is developed with OSMU business in mind and now it led to national TV as well as various contents including a musical, a publication, and a game.
