WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CARTOON SERIES? THE WORLD WANTS TO KNOW (AND SO DO I)!

Did you sit in front of the TV in your pajamas with a bowl of cereal in your lap watching cartoons as a kid? Me, too.
Let's have some fun and dig up those warm memories.
Tell me your favorite cartoon show of the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's. And tell me your #1 favorite show of them all. And if you feel passionate about your least favorites, rant away!
I'll tabulate the responses and share the stats in a future post. And I'll tell you my favorties, too.
Don't be shy! Take a moment and add a comment, below.

Hi, Jeffrey--
What a great idea!
Much too difficult to choose just one but I'll try my best, just off the top o' me noggin.
Assuming you meant TV cartoons only, correct? Because otherwise I'd include lots of WB and classic Disney Duck shorts.
60s: Though I'd vote BULLWINKLE the "greatest," I have to choose as my *favorite* the Grantray-Lawrence Marvel Comics toons (rerun locally Monday-Friday: Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Sub-Mariner and Thor, respectively). Cap was my favorite. The animation was godawful--little more than cutting out panels of the comics and moving an arm, leg or jaw (or the whole figure if flying/jumping). But that was the reason I dug them so much, because I could see art by the greats--Kirby, Colan, Ditko, Romita and more--move! And follow along with the comic books from which they were taken. Heaven to this little kid.
70s: My "golden age". Hong Kong Fooey, Grape Ape, Blue Falcon, Fat Albert, Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner Hour, Tarzan and so many others. But for "favorite" again, I'll go with THE PINK PANTHER. I bought the series on DVD and it holds up in both inventiveness and hilarity. Add in the Mancini music and the sum is greater than the parts.
80s: Not my era, so hard to choose and I didn't watch much. I remember most THE MIGHTY ORBOTS (Frank Welker fan!) and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MIGHTY MOUSE (Bakshi at his bizarrest, thanks to early John K). Gotta go with greatness here--MIGHTY MOUSE. Which leads me to:
90s: Hard to top THE SIMPSONS, but I'll go with REN & STIMPY. Nothing like it before or since.
00s: SOUTH PARK. Same comment as R & S. I started at the very beginning, with a VHS bootleg of the Jesus vs. Santa "video Xmas card" that Clooney sent around.
10s: Thought we're just into this decade, I have to mention ROBOT CHICKEN. Vulgar and juvenile, but the figure work is amazing, and the STAR WARS parodies are top-notch.
Thanks again, Jeffrey! Looking forward to your thoughts and the tabulated results if you post them.
Best,
Mike
You touched a subject near and dear to my heart.
My number one would be the Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour/Looney Tunes Merry Melodies cartoons.
However I'm compelled to mention a few others that I loved back in the 60's and just never get to see anymore.
Beany and Cecil
George of the Jungle
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Casper
Tex Avery cartoons
Popeye
Quickdraw McGraw
Flintstones/Jetsons
Johnny Quest...
OK. I think I better stop or I'll just list all of them :)
Flinstones with hungarian rhyming synch of course.
During the late 80s it was Jem.
During the 90s it was the Simpsons.
During the late 90s and 00s it was a Japanese anime called Rurouni Kenshin.
oh. I forgot to tell the best of all.
Here it is: Looney Tunes with Chuck Jones. He is my favorite animation director and also the most original of all. Its simple he is the best.
The Biskitts
The Smurfs
Profesor Baltazar (Croatian)
Mali leteći medvjedići (Croatian-Canadian coproduction)
Pat a Mat (A je to!) (Czech)
Inspector Gadget
The Flinstones
So, this is a nice nostalgic exercise, ahha.
Here it goes:
60's - Jonny Quest. A solid cartoon. I didn't see much of it, because i'm a too young (20 years). But at least as I reamember, Jonny Quest had an incredible history just like strong characters. The show diserve the success it had
70's - Scooby Doo, fore sure. One of the biggest cartoons ever. The franchise have new shows every couple of year. For me it's one of the best. The story, the mistery, and always the space for comedy. In general the serie was intelligent, we have distinct characters that works togheter as an investigation team and a funny group.
80's - Inspector Gadget. I was about to tell Teenage Mutant but everyone was judge me because that is your series, hahaa. But anyway, Inspector is a huge cartoon for me. The main character is so interesting and funny that every episode is a worthy show to watch.
90's - Well. now the things got rough. These are the cartoons that I most watched (born in 1991). So it's a hard choice. So I choose: Bob's World. The idea of the serie was really inventive. The episodes works so well that everyone fells the exacly things that the kid was passing, so you bond with it. There is so many other reasons but I won't wander about it. Bob is fantastic.
00's - The Fairly Oddparents. One of the bests for me. I had a lot of choices, but this one is a special one. I believe it has something that turns into an unique cartoon. The gags are wellplaced and fits just for a children as an adult. The stories are interesting and keeps you watching the show till the conflicts are settled. I love it so much!
obs.: Jeffrey your book is amazing. Just want to thank you to became a mark on my writer carrear, that I promise you, will be huge.
My #1 favorite cartoon series is Tom and Jerry. The old ones, not the new ones that is out now. The one produced by Fred Quimby and Chuck Jones, the Gene Dietch were a little... weird. Next on my list and in no order is the Looney Tunes and Tex Avery series. They both were had great gags and characters.
