Gears of War 3 Epic Edition UN-BOXING

When this package arrived at my doorstep sent by the glorious saints at Epic Games, I couldn't help but sing Hallelujah! Gears of War 3 is already a candidate for Game of the Year 2011 and if there were a category for Special Edition of the Year, this would probably take it. Alright, let's get into some details.

Highlights

Basically, the whole freakin' thing. The Marcus Fenix statue is made of plastic but it feels like a very good quality, flexible plastic. The giant metal gear which acts as a replica of Adam Fenix's award is gorgeous and very heavy. Even the DVD case of the game is designed to look like something in the game.

Lowlights

The instruction manual isn't really a manual. It's more like a single piece of paper folded in half and placed in the case to fill the void of a manual (check the pics below). Ok, I understand the companies are trying to save money here and there but c'mon!

If you're thinking about getting this, keep in mind that the light up shoulder straps and light up highlights on the back are not exactly "light up" so don't go looking for where to put the batteries. They're more like "glow in the dark". Enjoy!
