Review: Cars 2
In this sequel to Cars, after winning the Piston Cup, Lightening McQueen, professional racecar champion, invites his best friend Mater (a rusty tow truck who tries to be funny but ends up looking dumb) to help him in winning the World Grand Prix. Along the way, Mater gets himself into tons of trouble and makes Lightening McQueen lose his first race. Lightening McQueen gets into a fight with Mater and tells Mater he is no longer needed. Mater is on the slow side, and doesn’t realize that he is mistaken for a secret agent by the enemy and the British intelligence.
Liked: Cars 2 is a hilarious and action-packed film, better than the first Cars. I think the plot is interesting too. I especially liked the spying scenes and the fancy car technology. I think that the moral is great too: Friends stick together no matter what. My favorite character is Finn McMissle, the cool spy car. I give it 4 out of 5 starfish.
Disliked: Although it may be interesting for kids, parents may not be as engaged. My mom almost fell asleep during the film, something that didn’t happen with Kung Fu Panda 2 or Forks Over Knives. I also didn’t appreciate some of the crude humor.
Recommendation: I recommend this film to ages 8 and up, because of cartoon violence and some shooting scenes. I think that children would enjoy this film the most.
