So, it's the morning after the grand premiere of “Idiots and Angels” at the IFC Center. It was a wonderful evening, lots of old friends and a lot of new fans of Plymptoons.

I can't say it was a smashing success; even though we had good crowds for both evening shows we didn't have a sell-out, and that's the dream of every filmmaker: A nice fat “sold out” sign over the box office window.

We had wonderful press, but as you know, our advertising budget was minimal, and I think that hurt us. What was particularly damaging was that there was not one mention anywhere in the Village Voice – that being the weekly arts paper for the Village area where my film was showing. There was not a review, an ad, or even a listing in the paper – I think that was a very terrible mistake.

In any case, on the positive side, we did well enough to get the show extended two more days to the 14th of October. Let's hope that word of mouth, word of Facebook, and my Comic Con appearance will boost attendance for the weekend.

Stay tuned for more developments!

Talk to you soon,

Bill

It was a GREAT film; Surprising in all the good ways! It looks like your going to have a good run in LA so I'm looking forward to seeing that report in the blog (=
